This is a really good initiative. I appreciate the IV core for taking this up. I have read enough stories from people on Murthy forums. I will ask people on those forums to post their stories first hand on IV forums.

Agree, also Immigration voice needs everyone to join in their cause and support them as Donors and in active volunteering.
New GC applicants generally realize the only way to get relief is through legislative change that Immigration voice is working on.
So rather than wasting time & energy guessing dates, its a good idea to spare 3 bucks a day from coffee for IV and actively campaign for new laws.
BTW the prediction was 1-2 weeks of movement each month for all of 2011, and possibly zero movement sometimes. New Math formulas ,modelling, arent going to change it.
Just look at how many Bills are coming in for Illegal immigration - that is due to active lobbying and generous support of their members.

I will like to ask your brain if this could be a problem as i did my H1 B Transfer twice before appling for my I 485 and everything went sucessful my GC sponsering Company is not in good terms they might have even revoke my I 140.
Is there any way to find out if my I 140 was revoked.
I applied my I 485 and EAD in July last year my H 1 B was transfered in March Last year i got my EAD's and Finger printing is also done.
But my PD is Dec 2001 so i have already crossed 180 Days and now have the right to use AC21, do i have to file any particular letter for this.

I've sent in slightly modified letters(personalised) from myself and separately from my wife to both the Whitehouse and to IV.
I found the best way to modify the well written template is to just put a small personal introduction at the top. Who you are, what you do and perhaps that you are waiting patiently for X years.
If you have renewed your EAD multiple times, it might be worth mentioning that as well.

At some point I had a question about this issue (I-131 page 4), about which "application" is deemed abandoned and I got an answer in these forums (someone said that he/she researched enough) and that it is the I-485 application which is deemed abandoned if you leave before AP gets approved.
However, when I enquired with a lawyer, and he mentioned that it is NOT I-485, but the "Advance Parole" application (I-131) which is deemed abandoned, if you leave the country before it is approved.
1. If you have a valid AP and are renewing it, can you still travel and come back on the previous AP (provided the return date is within the previous AP's expiry date)
2. If someone has never used their AP, and has a valid H1-B stamp, would this rule apply. ie, can the person come back on H1-B even though his AP application is pending?

Congrats suresh..it's good to see Dec 05 getting approved..best option would be to get your wife here on F1..Some of the schools required only TOEFL ..after coming to US get married again in US and apply for 485..

as per the certificate you completed the degree in June 2002 and you don't have five years from that date so it is tough now, filing for EB3 was a good option.

I am very happy with the customer services of New York Indian Consulate. All our passport renewals (4 during last 3 years) happened in a timely fashion and that too thru post without any personal visit. Whenever I e-mailed them with a question, I received answers promptly. I called them to know about status and received precise replies.
I think Meera Shankar needs to be fired. Its bloody 2010 and this is the kind of customer service the indian consulates provide - they dont pick up calls - it takes them a month to issue new passports - Always feel ashamed to be an indian any time I have to deal with these useless consulates.
The Houston consulate does not even have their address properly listed on their website.

I see the problem with the 1+3 since that would be combining. The 2+3 usually gets accepted. However you just never know how things will go with USCIS.

+3 sounds to be your diploma right? now what was eligiblity for the diploma 10th or 12th? I am assuming it was 10? since it was 3 years course.
My friend I hate to be sounding pessimistic but your education might add upto 16 years but it is not progressive 16 years as required for a bachelors program, most of it is redundant. your +2 (12th grade) and diploma are overlapping. Your +1 is completely tangential to your course work. It is same as some one doing 1st year courses for 3 different strems example 1st year Science , 1st year arts and 1st year commerce and then claiming he has equivalent of 3 years bachelors course work completed and so he be awarded a bachelors degree.
Please dont feel bad. I do not want to give you any false hopes. Please consult some proffessional evaluators to check if there is a way they can make your education sound progressive but looking at USCIS response you pasted they have evaluated your diploma and cannot accept it as equivalent to degree program
