I'm not a supporter of any political leader or party and you cannot create one politician that satisfies every citizen of its nation. And that's a simple fact. As long as the vast majority of the population is satisfied with the party administration and get some real benefits out it, that's what I call a real political leader and I see YSR as one among them...
If you really want to vent out your frustration, just go to India and do something about it. Why not change the things the way they are... Its easier said than done ...Don't you think??

There is no such Genocide happening in SL as some claim. As a matter of fact the LTTE ethnically cleansed the Muslims from the NE of the country in the 90's, yet the Muslims in SL didn't bare arms against the LTTE.
Mind you the civil war in SL is against the LTTE, not the Tamils.

EB2 ROW is CURRENT except INDIA AND CHINA. EB2 ROW will get 28.6% of 140000.
This means 40040. How they are going to divide these visa between INDIA and CHINA?

I have friends that make 3 times as much as I do...The only difference is that they have a GC and I do not..and I am making much better than an average American....
So your saying that I am not suffering is not soothing to me...It does not reduce my pain.....It does not convince me in any way....
Not just that...My friends who chose not to come to America now have a higher net worth than me....So coming to America has not exactly been a great thing for me....More over whatever you are saying is just salt on my wounds...nothing less than that....

Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Laws

Think what will happen if they woke up one fine morning and start another new interpretation of an existing law and then later they start doing it retroactively; just imagine the cascading effect.
It does not matter which side of the ship is taking fire. It seems to me that people on the left side of the boat are happy that the firing is only on the right side, forgetting it is the ship as a whole which is taking fire.
This only reminds me of the famous poem by Martin Niem�ller which goes like this.
"First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out."
To get the gravity of the situation, substitute it with which ever suits you ! EAD/consulting H1/direct H1/AOS pending/485 not filed/EB3/2/1....etc etc.. Behind all these fancy terms, numbers and notations there are people, children and families who are going thru difficult situations.

More and more, I see people posting messages containing the unspoken assumption that since the Indian E2 cutoff date has moved forward, it is likely to move forward further in the coming months. This is a false hope.
I personally feel it all depends on how USCIS is gonna process the cases during August 2008.
When Ron writes about the new EB2 India quota for 2008, he does not mention spill over to EB 2 India from EB1 category. Which is a very important aspect behind the prediction given by optimists like vdlrao and others.
However at the same time, if USCIS does not bring its act together and we end up wasting the visas once again ( it highly unlikely that consular visa posts will assign 20 to 40K visas in next two months ... Are there so many people going with CP route??) the dates for EB2 India will retrogress but certainly not to an extent that they go back to 2003. This kind of attitude will not help to acheive your goal. If US congress does not pass immigration that favors you may abuse everyone. Before that can you name any single country has such a better immiration policy than USA. You may name Canada and Australia. Canada many immigrants are struggling to survive for years so that is not attractive destination. Everyone knows what happens in Australia. A few violence will be enough to reduce immigration.
Still USA is best destination for world inspite of ugly recession. So if you want change any inequality or decrimination better fight with facts but not showing frustration. We got complete right to fight any discrimination or inequality both legally and by lobbying. Similarly our opponents also have same right to fight for their arguments. Using abusive words will do more harm than any benefit

Our PM, MMS in the last 5 years never visited all the states in the country. He never established contact with aam aadmi. MMS needs certificate from Rahul Gandhi that he is doing a good job. NB: I am an HR consultant and an expert on EEO laws, I still think that this discussion is worth taking to a top constitutional attorney. An hour of his time will cost peanuts compared to what we can possibly get out of this.

I don't think there is much I disagree with you. You are right about most things. Especiallly, that it is not an exact science. A lot depends upon how many applicants there are, and how many numbers are increased, and how much the country limits are increased by.
I also don't think that the country limits will go away totally. They will probably just increase them. But you never know. Espeically, because at some point, they will go to the point system, and then who knows whats going to happen to us.
Also, its not that I am concerned about what is GOOD JUST FOR ME. (BTW, its not just me, its about a third of IV) I am more worried about what is bad for me.
Again, there are no guarantees which of the 3 will get passed or accepted. 1 & 2 benefit you more than 3. Will be combined effect of those be more than enough to offset 3 (which I doubt will ever happen since that will require a change in law) is up to anyone's imagination.

Even if it is ok to fight how much resource IV have it to fight multiple issues. Resource means not just money but also time, manpower and effort. Most of the issues can be resolved if EB reform is done as people need not renew H1b as most can get GC within 3 years. Law clearly tells that there should be valid job position for H1b at the time of filing. For consulting bodyshoppers will bring persons here and search for job. That is clearly violation of law.
But certainly it can be requested to USCIS to change if geneunie persons are impacted. If memorendum is violation of law then USCIS will face lawsuit and you can also do that

I completely understand where your comment is coming from and respect your comments. But to be fair, i think it's just not appropriate making such comment without completely knowing my situvation.
I came to this country in 2000 and start working for my current employer, one of the reputed big technology company, in 2000. As the dot com bust started in late 2000, my company stopped applying green cards for employees as per law (since they were not in a position to show not availability of people with my skills and at the same time they started laying off people). But i still chose to stay with my current employer due to the kind of work we do and learning opportunities in my job. Finally my employer applied my GC in 2005 that to non-RIR category (not even RIR category as they still had some issues in applying RIR) as my 6year term was coming near. And this labor is still rotting in the backlog center and i don't know when it will be cleared (and i have already completed my 6year h1b term).
And in sept 2005, my employer gave me a sub labor, as the labor matched my skills and based on my superior performance (since there were many people similiar to my situvation in my company). This sub labor, i neither bought with money nor with some recommendations. It's completely earned by working hard.
And the same time, while i was waiting for my labor to be applied, many of friends and people i know of, who came to this country at much later time, went to work for small consultancy companies, applied GC and got GC long time back. You tell me what is fair in this country, when it comes to immigration process.
Your situvation could be much worse than me, but that's mainly due to the broken immigration process in country.

I completely understand where your comment is coming from and respect your comments. But to be fair, i think it's just not appropriate making such comment without completely knowing my situvation.
I came to this country in 2000 and start working for my current employer, one of the reputed big technology company, in 2000. As the dot com bust started in late 2000, my company stopped applying green cards for employees as per law (since they were not in a position to show not availability of people with my skills and at the same time they started laying off people). But i still chose to stay with my current employer due to the kind of work we do and learning opportunities in my job. Finally my employer applied my GC in 2005 that to non-RIR category (not even RIR category as they still had some issues in applying RIR) as my 6year term was coming near. And this labor is still rotting in the backlog center and i don't know when it will be cleared (and i have already completed my 6year h1b term).
And in sept 2005, my employer gave me a sub labor, as the labor matched my skills and based on my superior performance (since there were many people similiar to my situvation in my company). This sub labor, i neither bought with money nor with some recommendations. It's completely earned by working hard.
And the same time, while i was waiting for my labor to be applied, many of friends and people i know of, who came to this country at much later time, went to work for small consultancy companies, applied GC and got GC long time back. 2. Got RFE on Mar-2008 and replied to RFE on Apr-2008
RFE: 1. client contract 2. last 2 yrs my tax return
3. After Reply to RFE no news from USCIS
4. Applied for Premium processing on Jul-14-2008
5. I485 Pending and having EAD/AP for my family and Jul-09-2008 applied for EAD Renewal
My Questions:
1. Since my H1B expired on Jul-14 What is my status? Can I work till I get my H1B approval?.
2. How can I expedite the H1B Process ? (already upgraded to PP)
3. If I get approval , do I need to go back to home country to get stamping?

You should have got a response from USCIS by now or by tomorrow latest. If not then they will have to refund your fee. Once you get approved, when you travel outside of US you will have to get your H-1 B visa -either in your home country or Mexico or Canada.

This was the response I got 3 years ago when I enquired, but I believe the process is different for each province in Canada, and you may want to talk to the person below for more details. Life after internship/residency is not that lucrative in Canada. You may be better off in the Middle East.

If graduating from an accredited medical college in he United States, he/she will have substantially less difficulty obtaining his/her license to practice medicine in Canada.
He/She will have to complete the qualifying examinations that are administered by the Medical Council of Canada. There are two of these exams. Information about these exams can be found at http://www.mcc.ca. He/She should not have to worry about being subjected to the international medical graduate programs since American schools have their degrees recognized by the licensing bodies in Canada.
