Yes, ofcourse he is a demon. There are hundereds of thousands of people are dying without food. Not everyone is taking the arms and killing innocent people. He is a fanatic. He deserves nothing less than death. He should be cut into pieces and should be a lesson for other terrorist.
Poverty is the reality of our subcontinent, the reason Kasab took arms was out of ignorance not due to deliberate fundamentalism, even if latter were true, it is all desperation. The thousands of hungry dying people you point out might just take up arms if they had a choice to beat poverty.
How bright were we when we were 20 year olds? I am in no way supporting Kasab, he will meet his end eventually. Like I said, after AILA's memo came out yesterday, all the lawyers who were saying "it wont happen" have suddenly flipped and now they are saying "Anything can happen".
Sometimes I wonder what are we paying them for if we have to send them URL from AILA about various memos and directives? Isnt it a part of job description to keep an eye out on what's going on at USCIS ? It is available on websites for the whole world to see after all. If you realize the fundamentals, you will find a job somewhere else. If you start begging your master to let you clean the dishes so you can still stay, then you got problems.

Talking about diversity, those not familiar should take a look at an Indian currency note.
Maybe someone can scan and post one, I don't have any Indian note with me. You will see around 20+ languages on it. You can tell its different languages because they use different script unlike say German and French (except for the accents/umlaut). Actually the number of languages are much more than shown on the notes. For whatever reason AFAIK only languages with distinct script are classified as languages in India, others are called dialects. If you have a US education or in the alternate the right qualifications you should have no problem getting a stable well paying job in Canada. Its similar to a Doctor coming to the US but not taking USMLE but still expecting to get hired at the same level they were in their home country. I know of non-American friends with US undergrad degrees in Toronto making $95k+. With the Canadian dollar having recently surpassed the US dollar, the value of their pay is even greater now than it was before. If the folks in notcanada.com swallowed their pride used their PR status to get their qualifications up to par with Canadian requirements they would not waste so much time complaining. Its akin to having a car, having the keys, knowing you need to go from A to B, but complaining about the rough road as your number one excuse for not getting there. Those stuck here in GC limbo are in a similar boat, they have the car, they don't mind the rough road, they know how to drive but simply don't have the keys to get in the car in the first place. Bottomline is if one can't make it in Canada it would be difficult for them to make it anywhere else except their home country and the US (where things are relatively easy hence the now disappearing "land of opportunity" as things get tough with the misguided bill)

Hi,
I am on H1B (7th year and got extended for 3 yrs) and applied 485, received EAD from company A (140 approved).
I am asked to join Client by Company A due to some benefits both of us would receive. But Client wont support H1 so I need to use EAD.
Since EB3 is in very bad situation, Can I file new Perm, 140 and port my PD for EB2 using Company C for future position? I have position, salary and exp required for EB2. When should I join Company C if I choose this route?

Whats your EB3 PD. You can join company C anytime assuming that it has been more than six months since you filed your I-485. Company C can start the EB2 process should you choose to. However bear in mind that this process will also take some time.

This is first attempt, if goes smooth, next will be EAD, then I-485 approvals and then EB Based GCs when you go for USC.
It is not a good news for any of our member regardless of their status.
So far Employee-Employer relationship been the hardest part to define because it requires lot of flexibility and that's the nature of business.
This indeed is a very bad news. It looks to me that someone is frying a bigger fish here...
If antis target the areas of immigration that are no "well defined" so far (H1b rules is one example, another could be AC21 same or similar job and yet another could be "permanent job" after greencard), it could create a lot of problems and may even practically shut down all legal immigration.
This will only increat outsourcing and actually hurt US economy and jobs...too bad that "blinded" politicians do not recognize this.

In my opinion MMS may be a nice person and may be a good economist, but it wasn't him who was running the govt. and it will not be him if he comes back again. It is a very common practice in India, a chemist will run a chemist shop but the License is in somebody else's name. Here also same thing happened, you saw Manmohan Singh on PM's chair, but it was somebody else who was running the show, and it is deception & dishonesty to your voters. I always see a "Culprit" in his eyes, which is either hiding something or is guilty. Observe him on TV, he's mostly not making too much eye contact, he know he is guilty of deception....
He also headed one of the most corrupt & criminal cabinets in the history of India. People like Taslimuddin, Shibu Soren , Jagdish Tytler, Lalu had several criminal cases against them. On the contary you may not personally Like LK Advani, It's not just him who's going to rule the country if he comes to power. It'll be the whole cabinet, most what was during Vajpayee govt. which was much cleaner & much more agressive on developmental issues, they worked on certain agendas, lot of places where you see growth, were actually the good work done by the NDA govt. You may praise Laloo for all the Railway turn around, but the reality is the foundation was layed by then Railway Minister "Nitish Kumar", AI/AI became profitable under "Rajiv Pratap Rudy" . There were people like "Suresh Prabhu", "Yashwant Sinha", "Arun Shourie", all of them did tremendous Jobs in their cabinet.

No one is arguing that lot of EB1Cs do not deserve the classification, however; that is not the root cause why we are backlogged. You might get 1000more visas , you would think but at the end of the day , you will close that gateway as well. 1000 EB1 visas are not a major relief for us. And if you think that will resolve the issue, you are mistaken.
There is a political decision to backdate the country dates and hence even if you take up Eb1 issue, they will close that line as well, but those visas will not translate into more visas for us. Bureaucrats can come up with gazillion excuses as to why spillover did not happen such as "there is now demand for religious workers".
So do not deviate the focus of the community. Our purpose is to get our GC, not stop someone else from getting a GC. Thinking otherwise mean , divisive and selfish mentality! or plain jealousy. Has anyone stopped you from working for Cognizant?
We need transparency and better predictability in the whole process. Someone said Oppenheim knows more than many of us. My question is why should we trust him? Shouldent there be a system that gives clear picture to everyone?
Bottomline is we need to choose our battles! EB1 is not the battle we need to fight right now.

If this thread (forum) was a court room. It would have been declared by Judge that YSR is indeed the most corrupt politician AP had and pending further investigation all the occupied & grabbed lands, wealth be ordered to pay to the victims. In addition, the Judge would put a life time ban his Son from active politics.

Blaming IV on one hand for the lack of enthusiasm and support from EB3 community and on the other hand - for a stand-still in the Congress when it comes to EB specific bills/laws is inappropriate. And then asking IV to drum up a fake EB3 relief measure to encourage this community is a disastrous way to go.
I recently spoke with one of the admins (reached via contacts page) who gave a very realistic view of how things stand in the Congress and otherwise...and I truly encourage other members to talk to the right folks to get facts rather than getting misled by pure rhetoric. I trust that IV core advocacy wil identify the right bills/legislations to push for and hopefully regional grass-roots members will support those efforts. This Diversity bill might prove to be good practice but we should not have any false hopes. it just gives us another reason to blame IV later on - and IV is the only true platform we have.
Other than that let me just paste the following I wrote on another thread in response to Plainspeak's approach -
You do not represent my opinions. So please stop advocating yourself as an EB3 representative. With the points you have raised and the negative vibes you have created between EB2 vs EB3, you have shown that you are concerned and frustrated only about your own personal GC situation and are trying to use the EB3 tag to shove it down my throat. Which I completely detest.
Let me see if I understand PlainSpeak's language:
1. IV core needs to put a lot of resources to lobby for the DV bill, knowing full well that this bill will go nowhere!
2. Raise a false sense of hope among the EB3 community, again, knowing full well that its going to be dashed - just so that IV gains the trust of EB3 (I am EB3, and they have my trust without your logic!)
3. An exercise to gain trust by misleading!:D

The debate is interesting for a couple of reasons. First, it demonstrates that the EB system is very complex and any change causes ripple effects throughout the entire system. Second, we cannot talk to elected representatives about the immigration system if we do not have a complete understanding of it. We have to go into discussions with the idea that we have made a complete assessment of the impact of our proposals, that we recognize the issues and risks involved in each proposal.
The 485 filing without a current priority date is a really good example of the kind of debate that should be happening here. It would be nice if we could provide interim benefits to people who have been waiting for a long time to get a green card. Allowing anybody with an approved labour certification to immediately file for their 485 is clearly a bad idea given the constraints of the system as outlined by unitednations. We could make a change in our proposal so that only people with, say, a five year old priority date and an approved 140 could file for their 485 without a current priority date.
This is one of the most constructive threads that I have followed on IV over the past few months - good job all round.

Reason is:
2005 and prior; certain countries went over their limit. If they hadn't gone over their limit then EB3 would not have gone unavailable. If EB3 would not have gone unavailable then EB3 ROW would have much more advanced dates. Countries cannot go over their 7% limit now until ROW eb3 essentially gets current. If they had done it in the past then maybe eb3 row would be current and the other countries can go over their 7% limit and their dates would also have advanced. Due to what happened in 2005 the dates are further back for everyone then they should have been.
How it is working and how it is supposed to work is important in people making their decisions; ie., should i file in eb2 or eb3?

For people who constantly watch visa bulletin; the dates won't move forward until fourth quarter when eb1 and eb2 visas get spilled over.; so no sense in waiting for it so eagerly.
