some time back when I had called I was told it was assigned to an officer (PD not current though). What does that mean?
I never had any RFE, but my case has been bounced around for no reason. From TSC->CSC->TSC and I am told that it is not even pre-adjudicated not even assigned to any officer as yet. I have yet to see any more illogical organization other than USCIS. :mad:

Given the constraints of existing legacy case management systems, USCIS would today need to perform a cumbersome, labor intensive, recurring manual audit of all pending files in order to compile the suggested data. Such audits would be cost prohibitive. (page 13)
USCIS has opted not to use its limited financial resources to extract data from current systems and prefers to spend it on prospective systems that are years in the planning. For example, USCIS has not made corrections to the CLAIMS 3 system to capture data on applicants’ priority date information, country of nationality, and the preference category under which the application is filed that USCIS must review before the application is accepted for green card processing. (page 13)
Failing to correct the system annually results in hundreds, if not thousands, of wasted hours by all levels of USCIS leadership in trying to account for an often asked question by Congress, the Ombudsman, stakeholders, and others: “Exactly how many employment-based green card applications does the agency have pending?” USCIS still cannot answer that question today with certainty. They have stopped issuing intrim EAD from local office.
According to this from Murthy:
Generally, one may apply for an interim EAD card, if the EAD application has been pending more than 90 days if there is not an unanswered Request for Evidence (RFE) on an I-140, I-485, or I-765 that is pending with the USCIS for the applicant. Recently I returned after a one month trip to India. At DC airport the CBP secondary inspection officer grilled us rough. First he called my wife and asked why did we leave US. She told that since my parents are old and not in good health we visited them. Then he started asking for documents proving it. And told us that without documents he won't let us enter. He went on to say that AP is only on humanitarian basis and unless CBP officer is satisfied with proof they cannot allow AP holder to enter. Finally after convincing him for another 30 min he let us in.
This was a really shocking experience. Are employment based GC's AP supposed to be treated like humanitarian AP? or was the CBP officer over reacting? Gurus please throw some light.

As of right now, YES. It is possible if you are in US. You submit the US birth certificate and that is the proof (Amendment 14) of your citizenship. If you are outside US, the process is slightly difficult that you have to convince the consulate/embassy.
Same is not true on the other side. Once you get US Passport, you have to do some "dramatic" actions to get your Indian passport back even if you are ready to renounce US Passport, because we follow rules (!!!) strictly.

Hindus could be anywhere in the world, not just India. Being a Hindu does not automatically mean you are an Indian. You could be a citizen of any country. So it does not establish the notion that it is an India centric website.
Just like all Muslims are not from Saudi Arabia. They are in 100's of different countres and citizens of diverse nations from UK and Malaysia to Australia and Germany. Christians could be from Europe, Australia and India or the African continent or China and other parts of Asia. I personally know Hindus that are from Fiji, Trinidad, Singapore, Malaysia, Sweden, UK, Canada and they are not Indian citizens.
Moreover, Diwali is for everybody, Just like X'MAS is. You can be an American and be a Hindu. So There is no question of IV getting targetted as India-centric or Indian issues-specific website.

i agree. how about sending flowers to precident with message that if half million legal immigrant waiting in EB get GC, will definitely buy home, so it will help to improve US Housing crisis.

Best is to lobby using aides of big corporations, developing relationship with lobbyists who already have connections, hiring lawyers, developing strong case, donations in election campaigns etc. All of this needs loads and loads of money. Are we ready to donate to IV and build strong lobbying group for our cause? That is the only way to change our current situation.

I know few states have their own set of rules for license renewal or for first time license issue, but not sure whether entire US states are asking for more immigration related documents during the renewal and that too taking 9wks verification as you said, nt sure whether it is true...
may be IV core team should open a link, should ask everyone to post if they had similar experience recently in their states so that we can find out more fact abt this issue.
based on what you said "9 wks verification for immigration status", incase if it is true, then we are getting backlog (retrogression) problem even in driver license renewal.....we have this retrogression problem in gc process, name check process, etc...
hope it is not true, otherwise we have to add this to IV goals in home page and we have to start working on it.....
