I guess you would get better idea if you call up Amway corporation or FTC and find out. And not from other who spend their time flipping channels and burping beer.
As far as I know there are people from US Army, NASA scientists, NFL players, pastors etc.....from different background are very successfully building the franchise business. No wonder they are growing $1.2 billion dollars every year since 1950.
Of course is not for everyone; its only for people who know the power of free enterprise on which this country is built on.
Question is whether it will work for you? Your families finances are decided by you and not by any other people. If you do take advice from other, then you will be flipping channels and burping beer too, and it takes one big financial hit to wipe you off the slate.

I think IV should get a new law introduced which changes the surplus visa trickle down policy so that equal number or visas gets distributed between EB3 & EB2. This law will have maximum possibility of getting passed.

The EB categories are set up in priority order. To cascade from EB1-EB2/EB3 equally would break this priortization. Regardless of our opinion, Congress has decided that certain categories of immigrants should be accorded priority for admission. Those immigrants can file in EB1 or EB2. The cascading of unused visas fits that scheme as it is intended to work.

I am titled towards this idea. We can say its hard to get a mortgage with the status pending..

Guys,
I live in a place, Where we can find very few Indians. Out of 1500 units of apartments we are the only Indian family used to live in.
One fine day (of course relaized that was worst day) My kid is playing at the play ground and I saw one Indian couple was walking towards the ground. I was so excited (offcourse later exploited) that atleat my will get some company. He spoke to me nice and I introduced my wife. I gave my phone number ...
After 3 -4 days I got a call !!!! He said, one of his friend (big shot) is retiring this evening, if you guys can join, The Saga continued ..
We all went then I relaized that it is Quix !! I couldn't get rid of them for 3,4 months (Offcourse I am new to US that time). But atlast we told them we can not do ... Even after that he used to call us for atleast do this ... you don't need to do any thing we all take care of it.etc.
While I am reading this thread, I am laughing myself alot and I read almost all the replies. Offcourse I don't think some of our friends are writing that some quix guys may read this threading and upset about it.
Common even my wife and myself had fight about these guys and I was so upset for days and every time we meet I was so embarasssed to say "No".

One of my colleague whose job description is little different then mine has a PD of Sep 2003 and his Labour got approved but he left the company.
So is there anyway his approved labor is useful to me. What are the ifs,buts etc.

Dear Friends, I had it... I am moving to Canada in the next 2 months to work for guess who? Microsoft. Came to USA in 1997 for my masters, worked at Legato, Documentum and Opentext. Had to restart my GC twrice, once as the company laid me off and next for career progression. GC is still years years away. Interviewed with MSFT last month and got an offer to work in their Enterprise Collaboration team. MSFT looked at the visa mess I was in and offered me to work in Vancouver. I get my Canadian GC in 6 months and my wife can work from day one. I am abandoning my US dream for good;guess I would be satisfied with touching my 4 year old son's American passport.
I worked for a canadian company in US and now would be working for a US company in Canada. This is globalization. True Globalization. Any for those whiners belonging to IEEE and its propoganda machine, I would like to mention that I drew salries which were above way above the norm. I am sure I would be drawing more than 2 of his programmers combined. Ron- ask your folks to learn to compete and update their skills. They probably studied studied 'history of mathematics' as a math subject in high school instead of calculus. They were happy that they had the coolest Nintendo games while many like me were burning the midnight old figuring out data structures at Berkeley.
I hope Berney Sanders and his club of the CIR days are hearing the developments. Berney, fix the broken education system for job protection rather than building fences to prevent legal workers to come to this gifted country. More companies will leave for nearshore if the mess continues. Fix the system by closing the H1B loopholes that a small percentage of companies are exploiting. Don't bad mouth the H1B system which has given you so much talent that you could have never groomed, the talented individuals who have contributed to the society, social security system and what not. Patch the holes in the fence, do not erect a higher fence for which people need to pay $ 5000 to cross. And by the way if you have the inclination and the time- fix the broken LEGAL High Skilled immigration system.

The point of the thread is that many people now think that cost of american dream is greater than the opportunity, and the balance is tilting in favor of other countries. Everyone makes their own assessment. No point in getting personal about it. Just a suggestion..using phrases like "suck blood out your body" will just reduce the effect of your argument.
And Do you (canadian wanna be) have any clue that to get respected salary and position you will be forced by illiterate Canadians to have "Professional Engineering Certificates"... It will suck blood out of your body for 5 years... So just do not read "Greener Side" of Canadian Immigration... I know it may not be applicable to all but more or less most of will have to face the same music in their careers. My all Canadian friends and relatives want to be Americans.. Only some of them practically could proceed for that.. After some stage of life it becomes hard to move families.. That is the reason they are facing now to take decision and simultaneously do not want to live in Canada anymore.. If you have 101 fever it will take 1 month to have Doctor's appointment... GST.. Higher taxes.. statistically there are chances "Most of members of this forum - Canadian Wanna Be" will have less promotions and/or increments in salary eventhough they will find themselves most skilled wherever they will work. Top posts would be the dream for most of you guys unless you start your own business.. if you understand what I am trying to tell... In USA it is not that way.... I have many friends and these body shoppers don't pay for their medical insurance and all of my friends have a tough time - even Kforce etc doesn't pay if you're a contractor directly hired by them. Infosys, TCS pays and provides all kinds of benefits for people on H1, I don't know what ppl are against companies that have good business practice.
Deloitte, Accenture, IBM brings ppl from other countries on L1 - why balme Infosys, TCS.

This process would ensure that USCIS does not accept more applications than the number of visas available.
With respect to the recommendation that USCIS assign visa numbers to cases as they are received, the process the Ombudsman describes was the process in place a number of years ago. DOS, which manages overall visa number allocations, modified that process to the procedure in effect today. It is their policy to allocate visa numbers to USCIS adjustment cases only as the point of approval is reached.
However, through the tri-agency meetings, DOS explained that the modification to the program occurred in the early 1980s because INS could not adhere to the requirements to return unused visa numbers immediately. The Ombudsman understands that DOS prefers that cases are reported qualified for a visa earlier than at approval. For the past 2 years there were so many RFEs and denials and no body knew what basis. But if they bring a regulation and follow that everybody can prepare ahead and no surprises. It is not a question of making profit. They have to make profit by following law and ethics and not by using loopholes. The regulations will make the companies to follow the rules of the game. If bodyshoppers follow the law and ethics without any fraud they will become reputed companies and the regulations will not destroy them. But their profit may go down but good for everyone. Inspite of insane rules annual cap is reached even unemployment is decade high. I would term protectionist if annual cap is reduced or they make restrictions such that h1b cap usage is so low. In India best persons are available and whatever restrictions they put Indian techies will overcome unless they block it completely. 65k H1b is attached to WTO and no way they can reduce that.
