I was current for 2 months in 2008, didn't get. lets hope for the best
Thanks nrk. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I was current for two months in 2008 but did not get. So hoping for the best this time but again I would not be surprised if I don't get it, especially looking at USCIS/DOS works.

Thanks to the efforts of everyone at IV and QGA, we have the golden opportunity for a member of IV to actually testify before Congress. No kidding!

Here is a different translation
Justaju jiski thi, usko to na paya humne..
I did not get whom I craved for.
Is bahane magar dekh li duniya humne.
In pursuit of my craving, I experienced true world and life.
Roughly it translates to;
Justaju jiski thi, usko to na paya humne..
The person/object whom I was desiring to get it, not achieved it,
Is bahane magar dekh li duniya humne.
Due to this desire, atleast I have seen the world in its true colors

News article from Sify below.
Can IV work with ITAA(a lobbying group representing high-tech companies) to lobby our cause too.
http://sify.com/news/fullstory.php?id=14459414
Silicon Valley: The high-tech industry in the US has opposed the immigration bill being debated in the Senate, saying the measure as currently drafted would harm the American technology industry.
The Information Technology Association of America (ITAA), a lobbying group representing high-tech companies, says the bill won't do enough to compensate for a shortage of skilled workers and will make it more difficult to hire qualified people from overseas.
In a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, ITAA President and CEO, Phillip J Bond, said America's economy is strong and vibrant, but the country's future competitiveness rests on the ability of firms to recruit globally.
"As you know, the H-1B cap for FY '08 was reached in April, shutting out US employers from recruiting highly skilled foreign nationals who are graduating from US institutions with degrees in computer science, engineering, mathematics and other scientific and technical fields.
"Vacancies go unfilled and highly valued workers are forced to leave the country. Even worse, significant shortages exist in the permanent resident visa (green card) programme," Bond said.
Jeff Lande, a senior vice-president at the ITAA said the industry wants more people to be able to come into the country to fill shortages.
"We also want more green cards because for many companies they want someone to come in here who can innovate for their companies work for their companies and who can transition to permanent status," Lande told the National Public Radio.

Styrum: Why did you file an appeal on your first perm and why are you planning to file another appeal? Maybe I am not understanding something here. was your first LC denied? (on what ground?) why your second LC denied?? Please explain. it seems that we are on the same boat but my appeal have been there longer (now over 6 months)
does anybody here has any idea how long the appeal on the LC decision takes?? any information will be greatly appreciated.
My first PERM (through company A) was denied, as I told before, just because the PERM software automatically denies application with requirements that exceed "normal" SVP level. (Moreover, it accuses you in claiming that the requirements are normal, even if you didn't claim that!) I am not preparing a second appeal. I am preparing a second PERM filing through another company.

Please watch your language. Its a valid question. If you and your spouse have good jobs here and children are in school....moving back to support your parents may not be so feasible both economically and also for many other reasons. If you don't have useful and helpful suggestions to relieve the problem then please refrain from making attacks and have respect for others. you don't fully know or understand the person's circumstances
There was nothing wrong with my language! What was her question ?? Lobby for the new visa category?? Is she willing to go lobby or donate ?? This is her second post in this forum..., I asked her, why not move back?? Did she give a reason ?? If her circumstances are that bad, then start a movement!! Has she offered any solutions??

What is your point, Tnite? EAD and AP can filed/issued even if the PD is retrogressed. MY PD was retrogressed after I filed I-485 and EAD and AP were issued?
----------------------------------
Permanent Resident since May 2002
my point is if dates retrogress and if processing EAD's and AP's takes a long time getting a EAD might be easy in the first 60-90 days but renewals will become more difficult.
its ok for folks that are within their 6 yrs of H1b but for others it will be a big head ache. As someone already mentioned earlier, you might have to apply for your renewal EAD the day after you get your 1st EAD and so on.

If USD falls further-then other alternatives like migrating to Canada and Australia are more attractive.
Australia rewards you in terms of more points for having
-Better English
-Possessing high tech skills in demand
-Being less than 35 years old.
Australia has business ties to both Europe and far east Asia.
Compare this to US high skilled immigration system!. Ah!.
Canada is already worse than India (atleast for IT sector). Hard to find jobs. Salaries are 75-80% of corresponding US jobs. And Candian $ is also cheaper (though catching up with USD).

Why don't we mail copies of our degree certificates, diplomas and other credentials? They will know who is more educated..Lou Dobbs or us !!!
The broken system is causing a reverse brain rain, right? Well How about we:
1- Each one of us buys 10 bath tub stoppers (you know, the stoppers you use when taking a bath, to stop the water from going down the drain) and mail them to Congress, Media, USCIS, etc- With a letter "Please stop the self-inflicted U.S. Reverse Brain Drain, already 100,000 highly-skilled have left, stop the 10-year green card delays for LEGAL highly-skilled immigrants that is pushing them out of the country in frustration and lured by the boming economies of their home countries. Retain these highly-skilld immigrats that the U.S. needs while American universities train more Americans in the sciences, math and technology that the country does NOT currently have and desperately needs to retain U.S. global leadership and competitiveness"...or something like that
2-At the same time, we ALL send WHITE roses to Congress (Roses are now IV's trademark, we are known for them and the peace they mean, and roses should probably be on IV's logo too) Attach same note
THAT will send a strong message!!! (trust me)

Guys,
See some additional news below from Politico:
Darrell Issa attacks H-1B visa program, data projects
Darrell Issa attacks H-1B visa program, data projects - Michelle Quinn - POLITICO.com (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0411/53381.html)
There is definitely some movement here but interesting to note that House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) comment:
"Lofgren is holding high-end workers hostage for the low-skilled, illegal immigrant."
This was after a hearing in San Jose, I believe on Monday, about reform of H1B visa issue.
