    Please Stop living on Employees 'Hard Earned Money' .
    Treat Employees nicely and stop your Arrogance
    Tell your employees the actuall billing rate
    Stop Harassing them and Torturing them
    company Guest Houses are look like a Shit....they are not livable...
    Stop putting 10 people in one Guest House...
    start giving them standard Benefits( Health, Vision,Dental)

    I dont think so there is gonna be much impact of my Requests to these comapnies becaue all they care is how much maximum money then can make on employee in short time.......

    I am sorry that I wasted my time searching information for you. You just wanted to rant and are looking for a shoulder to cry. You are not serious about reporting your employer to DOL. It is foolish to expect idiots like you to come out of the gutter because you just enjoy the smell of the gutter. Expecting that your rants will have any affect on people who take advantage of immigrants is extremely foolish. And expecting folks like you to stand-up for yourself and do something about this is even more foolish.

    One more thing, only desi consulting companies are not the problem. Companies who figure out a way to take advantage of its employees, will do so. All companies are in the business of making bigger bucks for its shareholders. If they can figure out a way to make more, they will, even at the cost of taking advantage of immigrants. Desi companies figured out the loop holes first. Some of the other companies followed, others are still learning. It can be argued that % of such elements in desi consulting are more because they were the first to figure out the loopholes. But desi companies are not the only group taking advantage of immigrants. They are all the same. And folks like yourself feed into the problem. So please stop blaming just the desi consulting companies, because all companies are the same. Some companies have not yet figured out the ways to take advantage of immigrant employees. But these comapnies are learning fast, because they want to be competitive, right?

    The actual problem is, the Congress. Lawmakers are the problem. They know everything what is going on. They know that not just desi companies but even larger companies take advantage of the vulnerable part of the society - the immigrants. Inspite of having all the information, the lawmakers deliberately did not add necessary protections for immigrants. And, even if the system becomes more efficient, people who enjoy the gutter will continue to live in the gutter. No laws or protections can help folks like you. Every now and then, just come to forum like these and rant once in a while. That's what you will do. The fact is you do not need better treatment or benefits. You need better therapy to tell you that you can come out of the gutter.

    Please stop ranting and stop "requesting" desi companies on forum anonymously.

    They will retrogress all categories for India/China to 2001, so everyone will have to wait. Eventually people will fedup and leave the country (this solves half of their problem). For others they will keep issueing RFE for the next 5/10 years and enforcing stricter followup on AC-21 so people wont be able to leave their jobs and get promoted.

    So who will want to continue working at programmer in their mid50s. Imp question is will there be a job for such candidate...and so they will move back.

    Optimistic or Pessimistic ...any guess in this Guess the movement game is worthless.

    If you look at THOMAS it actually shows that Yeas are 55 and Nays are 40
    So the bill passed the voting ....
    but it failed because it was ruled "out-of-order" and hence rejected ...
    I dont know why it was ruled out of order ... maybe because it was attached to the defence spending bill so it was not the right place to put in this kind of amendment....

    I hope that Yeas mean YES and Nay mean "NO" or I need to get my head examined

    Hello Gurus,

    I too have changed employer (B) from july 1st and have not yet filed AC21.
    I have contacted attorney (who filed my GC and I-485) and he said he needs an authorization email from my old employer (A) to proceed further. I have asked my "A" for the authorization email and he is acting like he is not getting my emails. He is not answering my phone calls, even by mistake if he answers my call he is saying he will call me back, but never called me. i dont know whether he will revoke the I-140 which was approved in around April 2007.

    I don't know what exactly I need to do in this situation like to wait for old employers' call. He was very nice when I was his employee, but from the moment I left the company, he is a changed man.

    What are my best choices in this situation?

    BTW, I have paid all the legal expenses for H1s and GC processing.

    Looking forward to Guru's replies....

    If god exists , he/she should listen the prayers and save people.

    This is just one example.There are millions of incidents which proves that GOD doesn't exist.

    It's just out belief that GOD will do some good for us.

    problem is that if we believe in GOD , we'll start living with false hopes.

    I have EAD approved and 485 pending over 180 days. But 140 is still in process. My company decided to lay me off. What options do I have ?

    1. The company is not mean to revoke my 140 unless it is required by law to revoke 140 for all lay offs, Please advise.
    2. What options do i have now to retain my GC process

    You have a little tricky situation at hand, but you'll be okay if what you wrote is true - Your employer will not revoke your pending I-140. Not only that, they have to be nice enough to respond to any RFEs that come for your case. they can state that the imimgration application they filed for you is for a future position.

    Also, USCIS has a guideline about these cases. They are supposed to see if your I-140 was 'approvable' if it had been adjudicated within 180 days or before you leave the company, which I think it should be.

    I understand there are some anxious days ahead for you, but If I had to bet, I would bet on successful result of your case in the end :).

    Just make sure that your old employer doesn't revoke your I-140

    BTW, when was your I-140 filed?

    IV community, do you think there is anything we can learn from the Wisconsin gatherings??????????? They are able to mobilize 50,000 people or more in a matter of hours and days. IV campaign for 200 people is running for over a month! And as per the core team, we are yet to reach that number...............

    BTW, before anyone takes up arguments over WI issues, you are focusing on the wrong issue. I am only interested in the number of people that are mobilized, and why is it that we cannot do the same.

    Why is it a letter/FB/twitter can generate thousands of people to come out and protest, while the same newsletter/FB/twitter has had such a poor response for us. Are we not motivated enough? Or do we not actually care for the GC? Or do we get pleasure in just complaining? :confused: :mad:

    Hmm, that sounds cool - consolidating the qualifications into a huge stack to make an impact. I second that.

    This was discussed before and I cannot find it now..but here is an extension of the degrees idea.

    1. Get everyone involved in the GC process to make a copy of their degrees/ qualifications/ certifications/ patents/ papers/ publications/ etc

    2. Format it into standard size (perhaps A4)

    3. Get a stamp on each of those sheets that says 'TRASH' or something else - maybe 'REVERSE BRAIN DRAIN' or 'KEEP TALENT IN THE US' - we can work that out.

    4. Get each State Chapter to create a binder/ maybe more if we can get enough participation.

    5. We can submit a copy of that to local congressman and senators. We can also put all states together and send that to the White House, perhaps.

    This will take a lot of coordination from all state chapter...but it is doable.
    Any thoughts???

    Please don't shoot me down if you don't like it :) I just wanted to put my 2 cents in :p

    I am amazed by the effect the writer has had on stuckinmuck. More amazing is the fact that the writer validates his own point by claiming that he is with HR. Wonder how many real HR professionals reveal their company secrets.

    ........... My point is if we check our credentials, how many of us are 'true' innovators? I know I am not, I am an expert in what I do and am an asset to my company but I haven't filed any patents or publications which would be the true requirement for this country. My skills are indeed readily available in domestic workers as well. Could that be the reason for the backlog in EB-3 and none in EB-1? So do we need to do a reality check here? Just wondering if this could be the reason why we're getting a raw deal. Could it be that 'highly skilled' is not enough but 'genius' and 'highly skilled' is what's required here? Just a thought.

    I can confirm that DC allows you to renew online without looking at your immigration status. If you live in DC, make sure you renew online as I got it renewed for 4 years online.

    I filed my I485/EAD/AP on August 7, 2007. Does this mean that I do not have to pay any fee for EAD renewal now ?

    The instructions say this -

    Special Instructions :
    If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, then no fee is required to file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485.

    Same case was with me. They picked on my 3 year bachelor degree. Can i do appeal after 2 years ?

    Not appeal but rather re-filing as a fresh 140. The labor doesn't expire as long as you had filed an i-140 in the past when the labor was valid.

    Anyway, I feel there are bad apples......but not all take commissions.

    Still, I am at a loss to understand the same company that pays $180 per hour to the American Consulting company will pay me only as much as $50/hr.

    What would be their logic?

    My heart really goes out for Neelima and her family! I also faced this kind of situation in my office to a lesser extent.

    I am working as a permanent employee for a company and there are very few Asians working in this company. One of the business unit is outsourced to India and in our annual off-site meeting, the manager of that business unit sarcastically mentioned in the meeting infront of all the employees, how people in India lie about their resumes and how Indians are inefficient etc. etc. I felt so angry, sad and immediately walked out of the meeting.
