Awesome, ur IV family appreciate you. Folks like you are inspiration to all of us.
I was the guy from Sweden. I agree with the Russian student.
The reason I was there was because my green card process was a painful and stressful experience for 5 years. And I was still one of the lucky ones! I don't want to put anyone through the same agony, not even my worst enemy. I really feel for the people still stuck in the mess.
I talked to a Polish guy who had been here 9 years fully legally and could not leave. He had not seen his family in 9 years and did not want to risk going back just in case they would not approve his H1B in his home country. They are very strict there it seems, because none of his family members or friends could not even get a tourist nor visit visa to see his graduation. Shocking!
I was glad I showed up at the rally just to hear all the peoples' stories.
Most people who did not show up probably think they are ok after applying the i485. They will join IV rallies, when they realize how wrong they are. People have applied for i485s years ago and still don't have a green card...

Can anyone please help me with the EFile of EAD. I am applying for my first renewal.
1. Question: Have u ever applied for EAD? if Yes, Date for application:
Which date should we fill in here. Should it be First EAD Received Date or Notice Date or approved Date?
2. While Efiling we have a field (With dropdowns) Current Immigration status(Visitor, Student etc..) which drop down value should we fill if we are on 485 Pending (AOS) as my H1B expired already?
3. If you pick C9 for Eligibility Status Question, we have a Text box for the question, please provide information concerning your eligibility status.. what should we fill in this box?
4. At the end of Efiling, does it provide us with any supporting documents that needs to be mailed? or Do you know which one to send? As per the Paper based document instrcutions we should send, 485 copy + EAD Copy. No photos as per the Efiling instructions and should send the EFiled receipt notice..
I would appreciate if anyone can help me with this info.
Thanks,

Can someone explain to me why do we have three threads on Lou Doubs and only one discussing San Jose Rally?
If you guys are so passionate about Lou Doub's reporting, I suggest you go to anti-Lou forums. I don't have any love lost for Lou but kindly don't dilute group's attention on Lou. This is not a good idea at this time

Libra,
I think everybody here appreciates your effort to get people to contribute. But use of such demeaning language is simply uncalled for.
This approach will simply drive away new members and degrade IV's reputation.
Another question is how do you know if somebody has not contributed. Maybe they did, but just didn't update their signature.
I almost don't feel like visiting here anymore because of all this. Bu you know what, missions of IV are way more important to us.. so much that we are willing to put up with all this and help IV further its missions.
Maybe, we should explore other avenue of making money, like banner ads and targeted SE ads.
People who come here just to create threads and post all silly things need to get remind that this forum/organization is ran by members contribution, people like me who are contributing are allowing you to use this site. You better get this.
And somebody said it right, to contribute someone has to be huMAN.

You definitely need to send it even if you get BIOMETERICS
Hello WAIT_FOR_EVER_GC , Please do not confuse or post anything that you have no idea about.
Its is not true. You don't need to send photos for EAD and the instruction clearley says that. For AP you need to send photos even thnough you went for biometric appointment.
If you apply both EAD and AP together then you will still need to go to fingerprint and also send photos for AP.

1. We create an authentic database of member payments.
2. All non-paying members are unhappy and/or leave.
Let us have a civil and focussed debate on the following strongly related questions.
1. What is the utility of a non-paying member?
2. What is lost if a non-paying member leaves?

I did not feel like signing along for two reasons: we are not US citizen yet, and I consider myself citizen of the world and will always be. I do not aspire to become citizen of the United States of America.
Even when Americans sang their national anthem in a church, I felt not right. Churches are not supposed to be linked to states. There should be no country boundary within the Christian world.
There should be no country boundary within the world we want to build either.
By the way, if the United States go to war with your country of birth, who will you side with? Will the United States trust you?

Hello -
As a Primary Applicant my GC was approved (EB-1) but for my wife's application I got an RFE. RFE - USCIS is asking for a VALID wedding certificate showing proof of a hindu wedding under hindu act (dont ask what I was doing or what my lawyer was doing while submitting 485)
Now I have about 28 days (total is 30) to respond to it. I have not rcvd. my GC but it has been approved and has been sent to production. My lawyer told me that as my GC has been approved my VISA is not good anymore. My wife was on dependent visa and so is my kid.
Now as my GC got approved.......my visa got cancelled...........my wife's & kids visa is invalid.............and we did not file for Advance Parole so we cant travel. On top of all this we dont have a wedding certificate.
Any suggestion to address this situation? I cant get a certificate without going back to India and I cant leave the country as If I do so I wont get to enter the country again. Even if somehow (on some legal basis) I can re enter I dont think my wife and kid will be able to re enter US.
If I dont produce evidence then my wife's application will be rejected putting her out of status.............gosh what a mess.....
ANY SUGGESTIONS FROM ANYONE WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED. Murali please respond with any possibility which I can explore upon.
Thanks
Get an affidavit from relatives who were present for weeding....2 affidavits will be enough. No need to travel abroad.

IV has been doing a great job, we should all be proud of being a part of it.
I came across this post (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10316).
I think we should keep fighting till our goal is met. Can IV core team shed some light whether recapturing the unused visa numbers is ever possible ? Even if there is slightest change, we should NOT GIVE UP and work towards it. I've read that USCIS have so far wasted upto 600,000 EB visa numbers.
Now we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel for multi year EAD or EAD validity during the period of AOS(I-485). Should we roll up our sleeves and work for the recapture of unused visa numbers ? How to make this happen, Please share your thoughts and ideas.
LETS NOT STOP UNTIL WE GET WHAT WE DESERVE!
Agree. Recapturing unused visas (estimated to be around 218,000) is the single most important thing we should focus on. We should also keep pressure on USCIS through lobbying efforts to use up the available numbers for the current year. According to one estimate (posted somewhere on IV forums), USCIS will only use 80K visas this year.
So, what can we do?
Can we organize another rally?
Fast for a day in protest?

Noone is forcing them to be ehre - you are saying. And I am saying: nobody should be forcing them out, either. They are ehre because they want to be here and because they want to discuss something with other people who are here - administrative problems or philosohpical issues.
Being here and being a part are two different things, you are either for or against a thing, if you are for eb improvement then be 100% for it - not i m EB2 so i support eb2 or I'm masters so i support masters, such discussions are fruitless and meaningless... we don't need this
'You should trust the organization in what they do' - you are saying. The organization should not be perceived as an abstract, 'know-it-all' deity that we, tiny humans have to blidnly follow. The organization is us collectively and we should not be following it, but leading it or at least taking it somewhere. Sometimes the road is straight and goes forward, sometimes there seem to be multiple roads that need exploring which may or may not coverge again. Sometimes the journey is not continuous and you need to stop, consult a map or a compass and realing yourself. There is nothing wrong with that. There should never be blind trust because that will sooner or later drive us all down the cliffs.
Everyone is intelligent enough to know whats right and whats wrong... if you feel what an organization is doing is wrong then do not associate yourself with it. If you see a cliff ahead then there is a good chance everyone else will see it too if there is one.... but dont start yelling i see a cliff i see a cliff (when there is none) follow me follow me and disperse the group
'If you have ideas talk to the core and discuss with them in person' - that is exactly what we are doing. Throwing around ideas and discussing them amongst ourselves. Sometimes the discussion is easy and disciplined and constructive and sometimes it is hard and confrontational and destructive. I think that if it is too confrontational or too destrcutive that indicates that not all is well within the group - I would refrain from calling it an organization just yet - and the ideas are not mature or ready yet and/or the group is not really cohesive and it is really not one group. Both of which are problems that need to be addressed and dealt with. By stifling discussion and censoring out ideas that you do not like, you are doing a disservice to the entire group because the group has to discover what is the cause of the destructive confrontation otherwise it cannot successfully function and fulfill its objectives.
You are not doing what you think you are... if you have solid ideas call the core, they know a lot more then what we do about how things work when it comes to lobbying. I guess you only have to look at the flower campane to know what organization and unity means, thanks to their efforts USCIS reversed there decision!

For Press Distribution:
Highly Skilled Professionals Call on Congress to Pass Green Card Reforms
Immigration Voice Organizes Congressional Advocacy Days for Highly Skilled Legal Professionals
Washington, D.C. – From April 4-5 2011, over 175 members of Immigration Voice from around the nation will descend onto the nation's capital to ask their congressmen and senators for reforms to the broken Green-Card process.
“While K-Street, the Hi-Tech industry and Congress is distracted once again by H-1B visas, recycling the same old talking points one more time, Immigration Voice’s laser-like focus remains on the nearly 500,000 highly skilled immigrants who remain backlogged for 10-15 years waiting for their Green Cards,” said Aman Kapoor, president of Immigration Voice. “These highly-skilled professionals believe that the H-1B visa controversy sucks-up all the oxygen in the room whenever employment-based immigration policy is discussed. However, the real problem lies in the fact that there is a huge pool of talent untapped by American employers in the form of highly skilled legal professionals who have been living here on temporary visas as they patiently wait for their Green Cards. These law abiding, tax-paying, highly skilled future Americans, cannot start their own companies and immediately create jobs in America, change employers or accept promotions during the Green Card application process, which now spans 10-15 years. This creates serious quality of life issues and ultimately hurts the U.S. economy.
“Immigration Voice aims to create awareness with members of Congress, congressional staff and policy makers about the Green Card backlog, which inhibits job creation, entrepreneurship and wealth creation for all Americans. These immigrants are waiting to showcase their innovation leadership with their U.S. work experience American education. Immigration Voice will insist that Congress focus on the Green Card backlog rather than on H-1B visas,” concluded Kapoor.
Immigration Voice has arranged nearly 350 visits to congressional offices April 4-5 in both the House and Senate. You are invited to meet these activists at their Capitol Hill reception:
What: Immigration Voice Congressional Reception
When: 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

To learn more and to arrange an interview with Immigration Voice on the dates listed above, Contact: Immigration Voice (202) 386-6250 or Press@ImmigrationVoice.org
Founded in December 2005, Immigration Voice is a rapidly growing, national grassroots, non-profit 501 (c)(4) organization with 57,000 highly-skilled legal immigrants as members. Immigration Voice is committed to commonsense reforms to the employment-based immigration and Green Card process.

You have used EB2 substitution labor. For EB2 you should have Masters degree or min 5yrs of work experience. Talk with your Attorney and try to get atleast 5 years of work experience certificate from your previous employers and try to match up with the labor. Open an MTR and it may help you. When you open an MTR your case will be in pending status and you can get a H1B extension based on approved labor. After getting your H1B extesnion apply for PERM labor ASAP. Then you will not have any problem.
