Have they mentioned it on their website? Usually DMVs like CT etc.. mention on website that they need a Employment verification letter, as a matter of fact, they don't even accept paystubs they just want employment verification letter.
Folks - my advice is : Please do not argue with the department. Ask them to post their new requirement on their website so that you don't go there and get disappointed.

The data USCIS has published may not be 100% accurate. There are several thousand applications that may not have been pre-adjudicated at the time of publication of this data. The CP applications, field office applications etc are not part of this data.As an advocacy organization, based on the data we can work towards seeking explanation on slow movement of visa bulletin dates or wastage of visa numbers in the months to come. We feel this is a one step ahead of the IV prediction tool published by IV in the past. I think as a next step I will contact my Congressman after the Feb dates are released and we are still current. Do you know if it makes more sense to approach Congressman or Senator for this ? Also should I approach only 1 rep like 1 Congressman or approach both my district congressman and 2 state senators ?

Hi everyone,
I read the memo in details as it directly applies to my wife's ability to work and my ability to extend H1. Here is the analysis (I have excluded L visa part). But before that, I would like to acknowledge the works of this "the" person. They dont know how much their post means to others. Thank you so much for digging this out.
1) Husband H1, wife H4 (or vice versa) in 7th year. Wife can now work on a new H1. Her H1 will be valid for a new six year period. She can start work on 1st October 2007 if this is her first H1 and is aproved.
2) If wife had old H1, and say she worked for 1 year and stopped after completing 6 years on H1+H4. She can now transfer old H1 and work for 5 more years.
3) Say, wife starts work and husband loses job. Wife is now H1 and husband is on H4 - they can continue like this till wife's H1 validity period or till the family's GC is approved.
4) Husband H1 + wife H4 in 7th year (assuming GC in progress) and leave the country and stay outside USA. Husband gets transfer back to USA OR gets a new job in USA. Husaband or wife not in any H or L status at this time. They can still use the old H1 and GC process dates to get H1 extension for old H1.
5) H1 employee worked for 2 years and left USA. At any time (not just October), he can use old H1 for transfer and continue for 4 more years OR he can opt for a new 6 year period after 1 year stay outside USA.
Other provisions are for L1/L2 (which I skipped) and for preventing fraud when a person gets H1 and parks his family in US but the person remains outside USA. The memo states that H4 members should be in USA only to accompany the H1 member (provided H1 is in USA and in valid state).
Hope this helps to all. If you have read the memo and if you have anything to add please do so. This is probably the only positive news for H1, H4, GC this year.

The first time I was on my company payroll was in 09/11/2001. Since then as of today I am working continously.

Hello,
My application was sent on July20th to NSC.
Today I got a transfer notice saying application is transferred to Texas Service center. question
1. The Receipt number starts with WAC (CSC) but the notice tells it is under Texas service center. Where exactly is the application.
2. Is the Transfer notice same as application receipt or I will get a separate application receipt ? I do not see any received date column on the transfer notice.
3. What is the number starting with A on the transfer notice. Different numbers for me and my wife ?

Dear IV folks,
After a long long 7 years I finally received my Green Card y'day.
If not anything... this process does forcefully teach patience, hope, anger mgnt & gives a new understanding of terms UNFAIR & UNJUST.
My app did experience all the delays ..Backlog centers, company change, date portability, NameCheck..
For expediting Namecheck & Serv. ticket I had written/fax/calls to almost everyone in govt. White House, First Lady, DHS Dir, TSC Dir, USCIS Dir, Senator...
Not sure if anything worked, but finally 180 day rule might have helped.
Finally ...it's a great sense of relief.
I was desperately needing it now as I wanted MBA loan & change of field etc.
Special thanks to pappu,logiclife,berkeleybee,Googler ...you guys are the lighthouses in this long tempest.
It's amazing that someone whom you don't know & have never met, inspire & guide so many others.
All the very best to everyone & I hope everyone gets their GC in a FAIR order - FIFO -.

Finally I too received my FP notices, however I am scheduled to attend ASC in my attorney's location, I called customer service and now I need to wait till ASC finds an open spot to schedule FP at my location.

Wow, these have to be the best pixel art designs I have seen created. I voted for soul's because it just simple, angled. I also really liked all the things going on in eilsoe's graphic. If it wasn't for the wall eilsoe (I like cool slanted, twisted things) I would have def voted for your cool graphic. It was more of a tie between both of you guys really =)
