I 100% agree with you about visa capture...

So all in all, I do not see much of GC approval till the last quarter of next fiscal year; those 120k preadjudicated cases will sit in show case....
I used to like Ron Gotchers ideas and used to visit his site/blog; but after initial few months, I realized that he does not know any more than any of us...he just throws in ideas; some of which are completely base less....I feel bad about those people who believed his ideas and opted for CP while USCIS has already preadjudicated large number of applications....(he predicted at that time that July fiasco will happen every year, so do CP)

I think they might have thought that Grassley is like our Indian MPs and why should reply to him. They should have answered responsibly and tried to do some good faith efforts. Now it is paying time for their arrogance. Still Indian companies and Bodyshoppers are having time to change themselves. We need to wait and see whether they will change and forced to change.

If I was on the receivng end of that response; I would have thought that these guys are playing with me and by not answering the quesitons; then they are obviously trying to hide something. Therefore, I will attack them in another way to make them conform to the behaviour I want.

EB2, India, PD-oct 2003, RD-June 2007, I485- May 1st 2008.
o Nothing materially and noticeably. A minor nuisance out of the way.
- What did you do on the day you received it?
o Was glad but no celebration.
- How did the long wait upset your life?
o Yes for a while. But the entire episode changed my outlook and showed me a different perspective. After being frustrated for a while I realized I should not called myself �skilled� if I cannot navigate the rather simple green card mess. People are successful despite extraordinary physical handicaps and here I was restraining myself under the simple excuse of GC. I realized that I had to and could create oppurtunities for myself, without GC and without being in the US. Fortunately at that very time I got my EAD (June 2007). I gave myself a hard limit of 1 year and if GC did not materialize in a year I would ditch the effort and move to plan B. By april this year I began taking steps towards a change of job. My prospective job title was going were different but I was willing to risk the GC. Now I was wishing I should not get a GC since I would need to shelve plan B for 6 months. And suddenly on May 1st I got the GC, just when I did not want it!

Seems like everyone losing hope including core - as someone else said above its really sad to see this. Please dont lose hope at this critical moment else all of our efforts for last two years will go waste.
I cant imagine how much time/effort has been put into this effort by core members (as a relatively inactive member I myself could have easily spent several hundred hours on these forums in last year and half; and atleast some time in calling/faxing etc.). After all these efforts and seeing the current bill its understandable to get deeply disappointed. But dont lose hope yet. Its not over.

All of us were also thinking that we are in a better position to introduce and enact amendments in this congress. We still have time (2 weeks) for amendments - why are we thinking about alternate arrangements and slowly losing hope. Does this show our level of confidence now or this thread is meant for some light hearted fun?

There's always two sides of a coin. Don't think much about people who gave you red but there were also people who gave you green. And in this forum red and green means nothing.
It's just that some frustrated souls gives you RED and some relaxed souls give you GREEN.

Along same lines, I would like to ask, Mark or whoever in anti-immigration camp,
there are only 1M (may be little less) skilled workers looking for immigration and you have problem with that because all of them are not THE BRIGHTEST one, okay... well first understand, for THE BRIGHTEST we have EB1 which is working great. Now in America there is a lot of work which needs experienced and highly skilled worker and we have EB2 for that, apart from that we still have a lot of work which requires hitech skilled worker and for that we have Eb3. So by the definition system has already identified the need and have representation for those.
And secondly you have problem with those who came legally and are highly skilled and have followed all the rules since day 1, counts less that 1 million, you are not willing to give them GC on other hand there are 12M (actually 20 M) who can't even write their names in English and everybody is ready to give them GC even the president of US is ready.
Doesn't that give signal that US is pro illegal and anti-legal immigration.... think about it

There is 200k application without 140 approval, this is including july filers.
there is lot of chnace for those who got their I-140 approved, even their PD '2006.
you can see people getting approved PD'2005 EB2 cases, even then VB says now 2004'apr for EB2.They are not processing based on PD now and in future also i gues.Since we have already filed.PD will restrict only to File I-485 in future.
I think EB2-jan2007 and EB3-Aprl2005 in October VB

The bill goes no where after the hearings unless there are enough co-sponsors and CHC members are ok with the bills. Then the house speaker will decide to let the bills be debated and voted on the house floor. If it goes through House then Senate will vote on it and then the Prez signs it off.
So the most important thing is to participate in the phone campaign esp the one targeting CHC members.

I think worrying a lot about the GC has increased my blood pressure (and I need to relax). :) It is just like the COLTS disease - men are made to worry about the future. ;) IV allows to share your pain with others and also work together for a cause.
Remember life can be worse than what it is for you now (http://anilgeneral.blogspot.com/2008/07/when-going-gets-tough.html) Chill, it is a friday.

BTW: "sub prime" has nothing to do with the real estate market or the location of the house. It is a financial term to describe a "risk" category invented for the layman. People who got loans even though they do not have the 'prime' credit rating and paid zero down payment are the ones who are walking away from their houses. These foreclosed houses can be anywhere and probably in better locations than not, as their prices would not have precipitously climbed during 2003-2006 crazy years.
I agree with the above...subprime is not an area ..btw it is too late to link immigration with housing ..it did pick up some steam as shiller and others discussed it ,...THE Problem ..shiller and others wanted to give GC's to those who come to US on the first day ..he probably does not know that there are a million immigrant with good bank balances and GC (a small plastic card) is preventing them from buying a house.
