Not to throw more rocks into the gears here.. But unless the S2 has been updated (which I don't follow really), it was using the chip that was in the Nikon D1 I believe?
If that is such the case, ISO800 is noisy and you can't really shoot above that.
Disregard this if it is newer tech and I'm completely off base.

I don't recall reading anything about Nikon D1 tech being in the Fuji S2... noise seems related to the image capturing sensor and the electronics that follow. The S2 uses Fuji's SuperCCD (which stacks the pixels in a different pattern that allows for slightly better resolution in the "12" MP mode - which certainly doesn't come near the 1Ds, but some say it is better than the 6MP DSLRs, and no, I've not seen a S2 vs. 1DMKII comparison yet). What instead might actually "throw more rocks in gears" is that Thom mentions at the bottom of his review that he's heard more complaints about S2 reliability than other Nikon-based DSLRs, which is worse when one considers the fact that there aren't as many S2s out there as other Nikon DSLRs. I somhow feel that Name Check problem has not been taken care of within its entirety. I agree with one thing that NC will be "improved" but has not been and will never be streamlined the way actually it should be.

from 485 receipt date. Nobody knows when USCIS will initiate FBI Name
Check. So I see a big playground for USCIS to play if it decides to play.
What if uSCIS sends FBI name check initiation after 2 years of 485 receipt?
Do we have a way to know or keep an eye on USCIS about this? At least I
do not know and if somebody has the information please share it.
(2) "If 485 Otherwise is processable" then USCIS can go ahead without
waiting for NC check... What if USCIS decides to keep 100000 cases on
rack eating dust just by not moving the processing date for particular
service center? This you can see right now.. USCIS is making Texas slow
day by day not moving processing date. I remember Texas was ahead
with comparison to Nebraska around May to August 2007. If this happens your case is no more "processable".. Yes you can say that you are not stuck in NC queue but you will be stuck. USCIS may come up with altogether different startegy... To align processing times with FBI processing and FBI NC initiation. That may screw the things further.

Though this can be the case but this is relief to those who have been stuck in NC for years ,so in that retrospect six months is far far better . I think many people can see the things to their interpretation , my take is that you never get everything right on the first time, u revisit and make changes and correct special situations that were not taken care of intially. It is a start atleast now we dont have poeple who are waiting in NC for years and asking about WOM.

HLG has confirmed that the CIS is not returning I-485 Applications back to those who filed I-485 during the first week of July. 1. Have your medical appointments completed. Medical appointments can back up quite quickly. Therefore we urge people to complete their medicals.
2. Send in your documents to HLG. HLG�s I-485 Step By Step Guide has a list of documents that we need for all I-485 filing. HLG will not begin preparing the I-485 at this time, but we still recommend that you send us all of the items on the list.

Hahaha, despite the fact that an ever so considerate d100 user decided to sit himself at the edge of the runway to check his images on my last show shoot, effectively ruining 30% of my shots. I have no grudge against nikon except for the fact that it wouldnt have killed em to put some curves on that D70.

Got the status update email from USCIS stating a card has been issued for my 485 application.
I am not married yet. What are the implications if I get married to a citizen of india residing in India.

Well, you have not pissed me at all. I did what IV had asked in one month back. I had sent my 2 letters (me and my wife) 17 days back and collected another 12 letters from friends and send them too. I had contributed what ever IV had asked until now, what ever it may be.
I am sorry, but just a note can baffle you guys and you put all the -ve comments to the post, then sorry to say you guys cannot take any constructive opinion from others. And I think I did no wrong in asking Chanduv to stop posting innumerable threads just for one cause.

I'm sure you must have debated this already. But, I'd post this anyways:
Is it possible to take out(or substitute) the need to have a IV handle or register with IV, inorder to participate and meet the law-makers on the Advocacy Day?
I'm thinking that could bring in more people. People who wants to register will register anyways and who don't want to can also participate. There are other ways to check the validity of the person registering

I just called and they told that my employer should write to Vermont Service Center.Yes, this is not falling in place with their processing dates. But i think, you should be getting your approval any time. May be, have your attorney contact Vermont center for inquiry. Or you can call the customer service directly.

please don't post information you are not sure of. unless employer withdraws H1 there is no way USCIS can know of this. (Employers are not legally bound to file for H1 withdrawal) Also I would like to know the source of your 'zero tolerance' policy in regards to H1. In fact they forgive upto 6 months of 'unauthorized' employment when processing I-485. (http://www.murthy.com/news/n_nscuna.html). If they wanted to have 'zero tolerance' they would have forced employers to withdraw H1 or atleast inform USCIS of layoff.

There is nothing definite about EB1 approval (or for that matter, approval in any EB category). There are some with better credentials whose petitions got denied, and others with lesser qualifications got approved. To a large extent it will depend on your attorney's spinning skill, and to a small(?) extent also on the whims of the IO handling the petition.

All my checks got cashed today (6 of them). My I140 is pending at TSC. I don't know where my applications went and what time and who signed for it. All i know is my attorney sent my applications to be delivered on July 2nd.

I see an update on jan 24 on this bill to grant 55000 visas for advance degree holders from DV lottery. Does this mean progress? Rest of the immigration bills never make it to the sub committee.
