I know Americans who have bachelors degrees in physics or graphics arts or even literature from no name colleges who are much better than graduates in IITs both Btech and Mtechs. In fact I even know a high school graduate who was working as a contractor who was really really good. I'm talking about a Fortune 15 company here. As far as Indians are concerned I have seen some young chaps from Wipro,Infosys from no name Indian colleges and they are very good in their work. The college name only helps for your first jobs or to get your resume ahead of others in a pile of resumes that's all.

Here is what I researched and found out-
From the data for India
For Permanent applications 2004 => Reduction in Recruitment (EB2 cases)
From 1 April 1004 to 16 August 2004 => 430 appox(All countries)
No data from 17 August 2004 to 28 February 2005.
From 01 March 2005 to 30 September 2005, For Level III- 263 For Level IV-271
= 500 approx.
For 01 October 2005 to March 2006, For Level III- 2500, Level IV-1770
= 4300 approx.
Now, of the GCs approved last Aug.08 and Sept.08 were from the Texas Service Center.
That meant Atlanta Processing Center was the Labor Approval Center.
So, For 01 October 2005 to March 2006
For Level III- 1100, Level IV-770.
So, total left = (2500-1100) + (1770-770) = 1400 + 1100= 2500
Therefore toatl from 01 April 2004 to Mar. 2006=>
430(2004) + 400(mystery number from 16 Aug. 04 to 01 March 2005) + 500(2005) +2500(2006)= 3900 principal applicants.

And Do you (canadian wanna be) have any clue that to get respected salary and position you will be forced by illiterate Canadians to have "Professional Engineering Certificates"... It will suck blood out of your body for 5 years... So just do not read "Greener Side" of Canadian Immigration... I know it may not be applicable to all but more or less most of will have to face the same music in their careers. My all Canadian friends and relatives want to be Americans.. Only some of them practically could proceed for that.. After some stage of life it becomes hard to move families.. That is the reason they are facing now to take decision and simultaneously do not want to live in Canada anymore.. If you have 101 fever it will take 1 month to have Doctor's appointment... GST.. Higher taxes.. statistically there are chances "Most of members of this forum - Canadian Wanna Be" will have less promotions and/or increments in salary eventhough they will find themselves most skilled wherever they will work. Top posts would be the dream for most of you guys unless you start your own business.. if you understand what I am trying to tell... In USA it is not that way.... That was the note on immigration-law.com (with another note that AILA was looking into the legality of doing this)

In the past any leftover numbers from undersubscribed countries were being given to the oversubscribed countries in the final quarter of the year (Jul-Sept), That's how so many of indians and chinese got their GCs over last 4-5 years.
My question is, is that still the policy of the USCIS? Will USCIS use the leftover numbers from ROW for India/China.
The possibiliy of having quite a few of leftover numbers is high as ROW is current for EB2. That might bail out, to some extent, EB2 India.
You of course have to count the effect of new memorandum about FBI Name check into this mix.

I also used automatic revalidation about 3 months back.. Dont worry, The immigration officer there knows all the rules. FYI, I went by car from rainbow bridge. While comming back officer just asked me normal questions such as "Where are you from ? " and "When are you flying back to Houston ?". Thats about it..

I've lived in Stamford CT and Boston for the last 2 years and surprisingly I've never been approached by a single desi Quixtar person here so far. That's one of the best parts about shopping around Boston... you don't have these people wasting so much of your time.
When I lived in the Bay Area (3.5 years) I would chat with these people when time allowed, just move quickly around any strangers who seemed overly eager and always respond with I don't give out my phone numbers to strangers if I am forced to chat. So I guess the lesson is to move to areas where there are fewer Indians. Second look older, grow a paunch. Looking fit or young is a problem because they think you're easier to dupe. ;)
In short I just hate these people with my whole heart and it is a pity that I can no longer chat with random people any longer. What's the value of money if it comes at such a heavy price of destroying a community.

No doubt, Canada is a good second option, but the standard of living is much better in the US and will always be. The health system in Canada is crumbling and a private sector is growing in parallel. The wait period for surgery (knee replacements etc) is increasing and I don't think the manna will last too long.

that said, those who benefit will always justify it. it is human.
my personal view remains the same: discriminating between two individuals by country of origin is wrong. period.
thie country recognizes that fact in EVERYTHING, except immigration, and that has a long history of fear and restriction behind it.
i guess until one feels the effects of being on the "wrong side of the fence" it's hard to see this picture.

Out of 2000 - Medical is only valid for 1 year. In most of cases you will have to pay attorney again. All you can use is photos. I will say everybody atleast lost 1800 ( This is very minimum - also doesn't matter who pays- company or you).

This is what I was also proposing in another thread. we should ask for an administrative fix where once the application is pre adjudicated the applicant should be left alone and not issed any Employment verification letter rfe, or semilar\same job restrictions if they are back logged because of country quota and face multiple year wait, this way atleast it will give people some breating space, the way the system if set up right now, EAD, 485 pre adjudication, I140 approval are all useless if you keep getting Employment verification letter rfe and same semilar job rquirement. Without visa recapure it is going to take atleast 10 years for Eb3 and Eb2 india, in the next 10 years you will keep getting Employement verifivation letter rfe and semilar and same job requirement, there is no way anybody can survive that for 10 yeears. Administrative fix like this can happen without passing a law, for example USCIS started issuing 2 year EAD for retrogressed applicants as an administrative fix. We dont even need a interim green card we can continue on EAD with the administrative fix to exempt cases which have been preadjucated (485) from Employment verification letter RFE and same and semilar job requirement.
I just used t he term Interim GC to convey the idea, it could be named anything. EAD is a also a partial GC, it gives you rights of a GC holder pending administrative processing of your application - to work with any employer. The interim GC may provide all rights of a GC holder, awaiting final count in the legal register (due to legal need of numeric limitations) and the final card, just like a temporary driver license you get immediately after the road test. The idea is that once this stage is passed, no further questions on employment, etc. should be asked.
