Get skilled immigrants- but don't let a whole bunch of them rise to their levels of ability because they were born wrong. I am at a disadvantage because other people from my country applied for a GC. But when my employer takes me on, he does not care where I was born. My skillset has nothing to do with it. Why is my application (which is based on that employer and my skillset) hostage to something that is not even in the equation? This country is about individual freedom. I am here and an applicant for GC as an individual. What do I have to do with others who apply?

I have applied for 485 last year and I already have I-140 approved so I meet the criteria for AC21.
My question is that I have not applied for EAD and I am still on H1 with same employer. In case I lose job will I be considered out of status immediately for the reason that I am not using EAD. As I understand being on EAD allows some flexibility in gap in employment until the time of approval of 485 application.

I agree with this. Please Include Current Homeowners in the proposal, who are already contributing to economy while still waiting for the Greencard. Current Homeowners should not be be left out from the proposal.

While applying EAD online, by mistake I put family name as first name and first name as last name, Now I have got RFE saying service record indicates my name is different, so send birth certhificate. Do I need to send a cover letter saying this was mistake and I swapped the name by mistake.

*Company A has filled for my H1B Cancellation on June 20 but have visa stamped (valid till 2010).
* Company B has filed for my H1B Transfer.(Have upgraded to Premium processing)
* Have to enter canada on/before 4th Sept to validate canadian PR (will have to go to canada only for few days).
Q: Can I re-enter in the US from on a VISA(Valid till 2010) from company A + Approved I-797 from company B?

While it is a good idea to educate the congress regarding the impact the EB Green Card applicants could have on the Housing Market. It is a terrible idea to propose a legislation which would offer GCs to applicants who would purchases houses in US. To put it bluntly, the legislation seems to be meant for selling GCs to applicants who are in a position to afford it, offering GC to applicants who will invest in housing market is akin to giving out GCs for cash and there is already a category for that. How would one factor in the CP applicants like nurses and PT who are waiting in their home countries?
The idea should be modified to spread the message regarding the positive impact that the EB GC applicants could have on the housing market and not to create a niche category of EB applicants who can purchase their GC to scoot ahead of other less fortunate ones. This proposal should be nipped in the bud before some anti immigrant group or advocate like Lou gets wind of it.

I don't know what else to say. I am sorry to hear that this happened.
I'm sorry, I haven't monitored the web-site since my last posting.
Today reality hit me very hard. I am in my late thirties and I haven't had much adversity in my life regarding financial, career, family, etc.
However; today reality really hit me hard.
One gentlemen, his name was Raja Pitchai. He had asked me to help him file his I-140 and ask for cross chargeability to his wife's place of birth (singapore). USCIS accepted his package and his 140 got approved in a couple of months. (his priority date; india became available one month later anyways (he was from india eb2).
He was the one of the nicest guys I have talked to. Very courteous fellow.
They couldn't approve his case because he was stuck in name check. Well, his wife called me today and told me that he passed away last week (brain tumor). He had two U.S. citizen children but him and his wife have no relatives here.
She doesn't seem to be interested to stay here (she wouldn't be able to keep the greencard process going anyways because the death of the petitioner is automatic denial). She is leaving USA and was going through all the things she needs to wind up. I don't know if she would have stayed here if she got the greencard and I didn't want to task. Reality really him home today.
I need a couple of days to get over this.

However, my Russian friend (he is a Canadian PR, about to apply for citizenship) got a 10-year US business visa (B-1) and can enter the USA at any time. When you're a landed immigrant in Canada, US consulates start treating you very different.

We have taken these ideas to executive and legislative branches of the government. Our suggestions/proposals have been taken up at the top most level. This has been discussed more than few times with favorable consideration. Without being able to share the specifics, we have received extremely positive feedback for our suggestions. Specific events have to occur before this and similar ideas could possibly be considered in the new administration.

"Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh and BSP chief Mayawati too cannot be ruled out for the job," Modi said.
Apart from feeble retorts from Priyanka no sound came from other members.Funny Rahul Gandhi,touted to be future PM by the party was ducking for cover with 'I don't react' statement repeatedly.

In response to this Priyanka did the most dumbest thing, she goes about asking Media folks and Amethi people if she looks old?(kya mein budiya lagti hun?) Do Sonia,Rahul look old ,thus playing directly into the hands of opposition.
BJP said when we are talking about Congress party these people are talking about their age.So Congress is Mataji,Putri,Putra(Mother,Daughter,Son).

NAVSARI/RAJULA: Taking the 'weak' prime minister charge further, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi said Manmohan Singh was the prime ministerial
candidate only of the Gandhis and not of the entire UPA.
"Only the mother (Sonia Gandhi), son (Rahul) and daughter (Priyanka) keep saying that Singh is PM candidate. He is the candidate of Sonia Gandhi's family," he said.
"Except for Sonia Gandhi's family, nobody is rooting for Singh. Even senior Congress leaders like Arjun Singh and Kamal Nath are not acknowledging him for the top job," he said addressing election rallies in Gujarat.

My EB2 PD is Octo'2005 & receipt date of I-485 is Aug'17 2007 (receipt date on the receipt received from USCIS)-filed at NSC(although online it shows first Aug'2007 & now October'2007). NSC online update shows Aug 10'2007. What are the chances that my application will be processed in Aug'2008? I received a soft LUD on 07/03/2008 on my I-485/ead/travel document but nothing after that.
