My reasoning for less than 3k visas for EB3 I
Assume EB3 I has 2800 available per year
2800/12 = 233.33 per month.
The spread sheet shows that there are 135 pending with PD of March 01 or less. Which is less than 233 the PD did not cross April because there are 452 applications in april. A PD of April makes sense. Using calculation the PD will be July 2001 in Dec.
if you assume 8080 visas per year then there will be 673 visas availble per month and the PD should have crossed to May 2001 because the total pending 485s on May 1st are 587. If we go with your assumption then the PD in December will be at Jan 2002...I
You brought a good point to churn on our heads but remember DOS decides the dates not the USCIS and DOS and USCIS do not have any interlinking to set Dates in a bulletin.
How DOS decides the dates in each bulletin is also a mysterious and unknown area.

Here is another case of a person I came across recently. This person was stuck for the past 5 years in Namechecks . He applied for GC in 2001. He got his GC just recently after a long wait and struggle.
That's a shame. But now he is free to enjoy his life and not think 485 updates.Congratulations to him :)

Well, here we have someone who is summing up his GC journey after it is over, I doubt he had the intention to entertain someone with his writeup.
If you are bored then maybe you should go out for a walk or watch a comedy movie.
Congrats.. its bit boring to ready through your story though..

But, can somebody answer my question above..........why is the same house (not even a brick changed) being appraised at around 100k lower than it was done 2 years back, by the same bank??
For the same reason S&P500 shares which used to be something like $130-140 couple of months back are now selling for $85. Now should I go blaming NYSE/NASDAQ for that and ask my money back?
Buying house is not much different than buying stocks - both of them are investments at the most fundamental level and are hence susceptible to ups and downs. If you don't have stomach for it just don't do it.
Now, if you say you don't treat your home as investment but as a place to live then you should not be bothered if your house value is down temporarily in the short term. You can still live in it.
The very first post in the thread says the poster hoped to sell it off in two years and pocket a quick profit. Nothing wrong with that but it's called speculation and every speculation carries a certain risk with it. Own up to that risk! There is no investment with only upside. That's the very basic tenet of investment.

I guess everybody should support Rolling and Sunny because this initative will create an opening for all other immigration issues.
Everyone waiting for years to get their GC has a real reason to think why USCIS didn't do their job right.
I would say if Sunny and Rolling stone really file a lawsuit, it is like they turning the spotlight on USCIS and from there the rest us can work to bring more light to the bigger issues with USCIS

All we need is just 233,816(page 2) visas(forget about country limit, EB category etc). In that case in 2 years we will have 280,000(140,000 * 2) visas. So should we all get GC in two years with that logic.
If only USCIS can think along those lines.

PRLog.Org) Furore over the recent incident involving a volte-face by two US federal agencies - the Department of State and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service, on acceptance of Green Card applications from eager highly-skilled professionals such as engineers, scientists, computer and healthcare professionals, has reached epic proportions.
Earlier this week, the agencies involved claimed that a communication gap and an overzealous attempt at reducing backlogs caused them to use up all available Green Cards for the current fiscal year by Monday, July 2, 2007, revoking a previous press release that they would honor applications through July 2007. The resulting discontent among applicants gained significant media attention across the United States and abroad, even striking a chord in Bollywood, the worlds largest movie industry.
This week, scores of highly-skilled professionals across various ethnicities and nationalities are sending flowers to the US Citizenship and Immigration Service in a symbolic act of "Gandhiism" or Gandhigiri, to demonstrate their displeasure and to request honoring of their Green Card applications filed in July.
In response to this event, Academy Award Nominee Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who produced the run-away successes "Munna Bhai MBBS", and "Lage Raho Munna Bhai" stated, "Mahatma Gandhi has influenced several personalities, including American Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, Jr. These young, law-abiding professionals have set out to strive for reform the right way- the Gandhigiri way."
The theme of Lage Raho Munna Bhai centers on the usage of non-violent principles to win over difficult and non-co-operating entities. In the movies, character Munna Bhai wins over the tough Dr. Asthana by means of chain deliveries of flower bouquets. The sequel has revived Gandhian principles and popularized the concept of Gandhigiri- literally meaning a symbolic act of peaceful protest across South Asia and the UK.
Rajkumar Hirani, who has directed the Munna Bhai series, had this to say - "When you feel you have been wronged, you feel angry. The best way to overcome what you think is unjust, is to protest peacefully. Be nice to your opponent and let him see your point of view. My well-wishes go out to these educated, highly-skilled professionals who have abided by the law and have been eagerly waiting in line for their Green Cards for nearly ten years."
Boman Irani, who plays hardball Dr. Asthana in the popular series, shared his views Gandhigiri is a tool that makes your opponent see your point of view without losing your dignity. With aggression, one usually loses focus over the main issue, whereas good behavior makes the other person open up a dialogue. Whats key is to keep the efforts ongoing Gandhigiri isnt easy, but works in the long run!.
The film personalities shared their solidarity with Immigration Voice, a not-for-profit group that advocates highly-skilled immigration reform.
Expectations ran high among applicants. Highly-skilled professionals and US employers have incurred financial expenses averaging USD 3,000 or more, per family in just filing and preparation fees, not including the rush to get medical examinations completed on time, or the resulting hurry to get supporting documentation from home countries. Several applicants have had to call off vacations or business trips to be in the US to file adjustment of status applications as part of the final stage of the Green Card process. Some applicants or their representatives even traveled personally to Immigration Service Centers to be the first ones to submit. Not to mention the downtime that has resulted in lost productivity to several US businesses", says Aman Kapoor, of Immigration Voice. Aged parents and families in home countries were inconvenienced to source supporting documentation such as birth and baptismal certificates, all resulting in naught.
Although the ability to file for adjustment of status during July would not have granted the coveted Green Card, this move alone would have provided several interim benefits to qualifying applicants while waiting for their Green Cards- benefits such as the right to travel and right to work. Several applicants spouses are highly-skilled and have been eroding their skills over the years in anticipation of a Green Card because they cannot otherwise work on dependent visas.
Also, several applicants have been subject to career stagnation over the years and this move would have provided flexibility to switch employers after 180 days of filing. Employers would have benefited from paperwork reduction as well as additional legal fees required to frequently temporary visas.
Says Kapoor, "Disconcert among highly-skilled professionals grew exponentially in the last few days. Several members, out of their own initiative decided to organize a peaceful protest in the Gandhigiri style to display their resentment.
Dr. Emilio Gonzales, USCIS Director, announced in a press release Monday that the agency would arrange for the flowers to be sent to recuperating service personnel. In the movie, Dr. Asthana finally relents to Munna Bhai's chain flower campaign. Although, this symbolic gesture has by highly-skilled professionals has evinced a reaction from movie moguls, it is hoped that the incident will prompt real meaningful reform in the US immigration system in the days to come.

I got the RFE at last. I invoked AC21. The RFE for me is asking for 2 evidences
01. Why in Form I-693 medical examiner submitted x-ray but no skin test (we did it because we had the TB vaccination in childhood and skin test would come positive and we had to take x-ray anyway) ---Not an Issue, we can answer that
02. Submit current dated EVL for your new employer. No issue. we can answer that
For my wife also asking for 2 evidences:
01. About the same medical issue.
02. Provide her non-immigrant status between Feb 2003 to Jan 2004.
I don't know what do. Looks like we are doomed. My wife came here with H4 in 2000, was provided I-94 from the airport for 3 years (till Jan 2003), we didn't know then that we have to file a I-539 extension for H4 extension (even couple of my friends had the same idea). We knew that as long as I am on H1, she would maintain H4. I came to know in Jan 2004 and then we applied for I-539. I know this is stupid but that what happened. Anybody has any experience please reply..please please. We are really sleepless this time.
You can not change what had happened. They already found it.
And you did not do that in purpose and the dependant did not take any advantage during that period. So get a good lawyer and give proper explanation. Being out of status does not disqualify the application immediately. It depends on the explanation and the reviewer. There may be exceptions.
Good luck.

As usual typical stereotyping devoid of any reality and isn't even worth a reply. It is clear that knowledge of the above poster about ameriacn teenager comes from watching MTV.
No wonder otherwise tolerant americans are saying "F*** You" to fraudulent indian companies trying to commit fraud under the guise of globalization.
Usual Xenophobic rant.
Which site have you come from? Who do you represent? Tell your masters to open some education classes and help you learn new technologies so that you can find a job. That is better use of your time and money.
They say, idle mind is devils workshop.
It is because of people like you USA is losing is competitive edge.

Hi All, I had a quick question.
My I-485 got approved earlier this week from NSC and I received the approval/welcome letter by USPS.
My online status is at post-decision activity and not at CPO.
Though my welcome notice says that I should receive the card in 3 weeks, I am wondering if I need to be at CPO status before that happens....also I read somewhere they may require another FP before CPO (that was talking more abt transfer cases, but mine has always been at NSC).....but nowhere in my approval notice does it ask for an FP.
I was wondering if I should just sit tight and wait for the physical card or try to find out more information.
Thanks so much.
No need to worry at all. The cards will arrive very soon. My case pretty much similar.
