L1 Blanket visa, from the a very reputed company, Jan 16th interview, visa was approved (i.e. no 221g), no information from Consulate, no idea as to what is delaying the stamping.

It makes sense to file concurrently only when PD is current. Otherwise it is like applying for your citizenship before getting your GC!
In other words I do not understand why your lawyer wants you to file concurrently when your PD is not current. Just to collect his fees? Maybe. He is at least right aboout the fact that USCIS will do nothing with your I485 application unless your PD is current. So I would just wait till your PD is current. You can still file for your I140 and wait for that to get processed.

I am not sure if I am correct, but I have heard it is totally up to you what form to use when re-entering the U.S. If one posseses a valid H1 and AP, it is up to him what to use. Many people choose to use H1 to enter to safeguard status while I485 is pending. I may be wrong; but I could swear I read about this some time ago.....

First off, interesting thought. I thought about this a lot. A lot of my friends are citizens now. Most of them came at the same time I did or even after I came. They were at the right place at right time and did not languish in SWA & BEC like I did and did not wait in 485 queue for years like I am now.
It may be difficult to sell the idea of 10 year presence , but I believe the following may be palatable :
Consider the 140 approval date or I485 filing date towards calculation of the 5 years of residency requirement instead of GC approval date. You are technically approved to be a resident when 140 is approved. You are ONLY WAITING to be status adjusted for lack of numbers.
having said that I have NO expectation that we can achieve this. Think about it, we can't get simple things about GC done and aim for Citizenship :)

Meanwhile they start arguing.. and many like them join their verbal-struggle..
Because of this, IV community is divided.. Earlier only 200 people used to respond to action items .. now because of the rift only 100 do... this weakens the momentum that the campaign had..
Meanwhile, NumbersUSA et all increased their efforts..
Anti-immigration forces are united and under their pressure all the EB relief bills fail...
Election is close USCIS shifts the focus to FB visas..
EB backlog, retrogression goes up..

My Experience (PIMS):
I was interviewed at Mumbai Consulate on 28th Dec. At the interview I was told that I will receive an email from the consulate within 24-48 hrs at which time I will have to resubmit my passport at any one of the western US VFS centers along with the email and the yellow paper and a photo copy of my I-797.
I gave my passport to one of my friends in Mumbai and continued with the rest of my trip. Till date I have not received any emails from the consulate.
Any body in similar situation and any tips on what should be the next course of action.

Communist/progressive leaning organizations such as ASHA and AID are fighting, doing activism, struggling and all doing all that, with a subconscious unhealthy feverishness in the mind. The long term result of their noble goals tends not to promote peace but a latent violence (does not have to be manifest violence).
It is possible to bring justice with inner peace but at the same time steadfast determination.
I am writing not directing to SOP who I wish only the best, but to bring about these subtle points.

I was wondering if there are any plans for a recapture campaign ? my feeling is that we should concentrate on recapture at all times ..even if it is something in preparation i.e. do some homework now itself in anticipation ..the other point is keep talking about IV and get new members ..in the last 2 days ..I came across 2 people in various stages of immigration and they did not know about IV ..and they have joined now. I guess this is the most effective way to increase membership

b) lack of resources and funding to process all the name checks.
(premium processing will provide those funds)
immigration relief like recapture, more visas etc require congressional approval and i dont think we will see any till mid 2009 after the election is settled.

All USCIS requests have a priority level 3 - requests WITHOUT specific deadlines.
