After reading so many cold calling failures, I am yet to see a "success story" of this methodology.
If nobody got "converted" after being approached by a total stranger in a public place, why does BWW/Quixstar/Amway continue to do it.
Perhaps we should ask Q/Teddy to collect this data, analyze it and prove to them the futility of it all. Maybe then they will stop and everybody can shop/work/study in peace. :D

There is no doubt Everyone knows that H1b and GC laws are crazy. For that we need to fight to change the law but should not encourage to violate the law. If USCIS violates law lawsuit should be filed. That is the rightway.

Hi,
Mine and my spouse I-485 has been current for over two months, We are on EB1 and our I485 receipt notice date was may 8 2007. The center is currently processing aug 2007 applications. My lawyer sent an inquiry 60 days ago and there has been no response from USCIS.
Please advice what i could do to find out why my processing has been delayed.

I agree, I read all the posts and went through some figures myself, the indication is that dates for EB2 will move much faster that we had all anticipated in the past. I do somewhere agree with my friend vldrao that dates could retrogress for a small period of time (say 1 month), but eventually dates will become current soon.

Don't even bother. I have tried arguing the same thing over and over again yet some people never seem to get it and keep comparing Canada and US. The reason people are even talking about Canada is because there is almost no hope for GC in US and people keep on saying US is better. It is but what good will it do to you if you can't stay here and enjoy the so called better opportunity in US.

I agree with you on the above points. You are doing the right thing in not blaming others for the downtrend in salaries. However, you are fundamentally assuming that you would have enough time to upgrade and adapt. What if that assumption falls apart?
Well, how can I blame employer if he is looking for skillset I don't have. To give you an example, if employer is looking for dot net architect with .net 3.5 experience and you have experience of dot net 2.0 then you don't qualify for that job. Simple.
Now a days, things are changing at faster pace. If you can't cope with that, you will lagging behind. You can not ask everyone else to go slow to match your speed.

I would still puruse removing quotas unconditionally. Not everyone will want to buy a house here. We can always propose buying houses will help fix housing crisis, but that shouldnt be a must.
Instead, I would suggest pay $5K or $10K to expedite it. I am sure many people want to take this. If we are talking about 500,000 people, then with a $5K premium processing, it will generate $2,500,000,000. Is that 2.5 billion.. Not bad. This step wioll not hurt many.

This sub labor, i neither bought with money nor with some recommendations. It's completely earned by working hard.
And the same time, while i was waiting for my labor to be applied, many of friends and people i know of, who came to this country at much later time, went to work for small consultancy companies, applied GC and got GC long time back. How ?. because the small companies don't even follow the laws, can apply GCs in RIR (by showing some junk proofs) and they will open a satelite offices in places like maine, wisconsin (just for their employees GCs) and get the labor approved at a faster rate. While we working at big companies wait for labor to be applied by following strict laws.
You tell me what is fair in this country, when it comes to immigration process.
Your situvation could be much worse than me, but that's mainly due to the broken immigration process in country.
I am not taking any offense on your comments. I wish you good luck and i hope your GC will come through soon.

I'm sorry, I haven't monitored the web-site since my last posting.
Today reality hit me very hard. I am in my late thirties and I haven't had much adversity in my life regarding financial, career, family, etc.
However; today reality really hit me hard.
One gentlemen, his name was Raja Pitchai. He had asked me to help him file his I-140 and ask for cross chargeability to his wife's place of birth (singapore). USCIS accepted his package and his 140 got approved in a couple of months. (his priority date; india became available one month later anyways (he was from india eb2).
He was the one of the nicest guys I have talked to. Very courteous fellow.
They couldn't approve his case because he was stuck in name check. Well, his wife called me today and told me that he passed away last week (brain tumor). He had two U.S. citizen children but him and his wife have no relatives here.
She doesn't seem to be interested to stay here (she wouldn't be able to keep the greencard process going anyways because the death of the petitioner is automatic denial). She is leaving USA and was going through all the things she needs to wind up. I don't know if she would have stayed here if she got the greencard and I didn't want to task. Reality really him home today.
I need a couple of days to get over this.
It is very sad to hear this story. Very sorry for him and his family. May god bless his family. When we here this kind of story, in a foreign land where no relatives are there, the life is so pathatic here. The reality is differnt. There is something big and important for us other than green card. The life, health and family is very important than GC. May god bless all of us.

She is leaving USA and was going through all the things she needs to wind up. I don't know if she would have stayed here if she got the greencard and I didn't want to task. Reality really him home today.

When we here this kind of story, in a foreign land where no relatives are there, the life is so pathatic here. The reality is differnt. There is something big and important for us other than green card. The life, health and family is very important than GC. May god bless all of us.

My parents are visiting me with visitors visa. They got the I-94 for 6 months. Can I extend their stay for another 6 months?. Will this affect their future entry in to USA?. Kindly advice what I need to do. Thanks in advance. What are the formalities I need to do to extend their stay?
