I do not know your particular situation, but I know something about MBA programs. There are some things that you need to keep in mind. An MBA degree is not a silver bullet. It comes with a huge opportunity cost. But, let us assume that you have done your research and have arrived at the conclusion that an MBA education is the best option to further your career.
1. A lot of value from the MBA degree comes from networking and group-work. I do not know how the online programs handle this. But at my company, we would not consider someone with an online degree for most MBA-level openings.
2.There are excellent part-time options available.
3. If cost is a major issue, you can evaluate the local state universities in your area.

I do not think the provision that would prohibit employers from hiring H-1B workers and then outsourcing them to other businesses would be in this the bill, Atleast these businesses will lobby to take it out.

I have seen the similar stop points in San Diego also and also while travelling to CA from AZ I was stopped at the border and then the office looked inside the car and said and thank you and let us go. I normally drive CA on the long weekends most of the time and everytime the same thing happens.

Guy you are forgetting the 7% per country quota for issuing GC. Applicants from a particular country can only get 7% of the total GC available in a year.
Total employment based quota per year is 140,000 and 7% of it is 9800. So at the most only 9800 Indians can get GC per year. This count also includes the dependents.
So even if your PD is current and you have filed your I-485 but there may be more than 9800 Indians with the same status and hence only the first 9800 will get GC that year.
There are more than 100,000 primary Indian applicants who have filed their I-485 and assuming a average Indian family size of 3, there are 300,000 who are waiting for GC. Only 9800 can get in a year. So if the law does not change this backlog will finish in more than 30 years.
Total employment based quota per year is 140,000 and 7% of it is 9800. So at the most only 9800 Indians can get GC per year. This count also includes the dependents.

Almost all my personal friends I spoke to recently who did not want to help with IV stuff, now proudly claim "As Obama has become the president, he will do something for us to get the green card"

People come on IV only to blame IV and admins for all the problems in their lives, but when asked to help for IV stuff - they give red dots and leave bad comments
Its kind of a funny situation, and dangerous at the same time. This is a setup for a perfect storm and these idiot "friends" are planning for sunny days ahead. I guess someone forgot to turn on the weather channel, which in this situation is equivalent to "using common sense".
I am sorry to say this but all these "friends" are actually not your friends. Its better to have a wise foe than foolish friends.
Intelligence is about matching the dots and foresee the coming events, which always tend to cast their shadow before they appear. Idiots tend to overlook the dots, and they continue to live in fools paradise. The problem is not the formation of a perfect storm, the problem is most of these "friends" will be caught off-guard, and the ship will take everyone down with them. I agree that you can get free information any where on the internet. But what about the main goal of getting funds? Do we care about the main agenda behind this website? Are we doing any thing to do our part by contributing? You only get very succinct info on murthy chat and khanna phone calls. You might get more info on their fourms. They are running those forums not only for community sake but also to get "invaluable" publicity that makes them "the name" in immigration. I got an answer on Murthy forum/Khanna forum indirectly translates into name/fame for the attorneys, which means more business for them. I got an answer on IV neither directly nor inidrectly translates into what??? Nothing.. As long as we tell ourselves that we get info for free, google is our friend, We are just substantiating our thoughts on "How NOT to pay". Nothing else.
And there is nothing wrong with that, right, because in the end you do not know what the financial situation of people on here is. One guy suggested a monthly contribution of 20 bucks, I laughed myself off the chair when I saw that. You're right, this is about "how not to pay" and why shouldn't it be. I don't make a lot, the lawyer's sucking me dry (in more ways than one if it were up to him), I've been waiting for this for ever, I have a family to support, etc.

I called USCIS today, i was asked to take infopass to get a status update on my case, as it was pending in local office. I am not sure why.
My PD is 2001 March, from Dallas BEC - LC cleared on June 2007. Filed 140+485 on July 2. In my company atleast 400 - 500 number of EB2 cases came thru in June 2007, there were a few hundred lcs from BEC for EB3 too..from 2000-2001 time frame, based on some of the threads I have seen. We are one of the largest networking company in San Jose, here. I am sure there are other companoies that have good number of folks, also depends on how many stuck on..

Degree - Research IIT/IISc Bangalore.

Is it true that in some cases after you file for AC21, CIS would send a RFE for the financial details of the new company (to stablish that the new company can pay you - company tax details).
I think I heard this on the last IV attorney conference call with Attorney Prashanti. So if that's is true, what if the company does not want to send this kind of confidential information to a third party attorney (your attorney)?
Or if the company is a big one they may not want to help you with these details at all. You know, they may not want to be bothered with that sort of hassle.

Kudos to Team IV for keeping the flame alive even in such a situation. If anybody noticed, IV is probably the only organization making any noise about us EB folks right now.
Pappu and core team, awesome job, please continue with the efforts. I had a few ideas:
1. Can we highlight past distinguished immigrants who have come thru the EB channel.
2. The core team, can you please tell, is it realistic to expect congress to view EB separately from CIR?
3. A lot of us here, have American managers, who would in all probability vouch for us and highlight why they want us to get a GC. We could even quantify this in dollar amounts. Can we highlight this?
4. A flash went off in my head when I read about a march to DC, do you remember the Civil rights movement, Dr Martin Luther King Jr, can we use this great man for inspiration? After all, though our cause may not be even close to what African American suffered, there are parallels.
5. Can we take some airtime on tv/radio to highlight H1bs? Is it a good idea? Maybe tech magazines ads?
6. Compile a list of Congress man/women, Senators nationwide, their stance on EB quota removal, this will help us quantitatively identify where we stand.
7. Folks, we are in a very tough adversarial situation, let us not forget that 40 od years back, if not for Civil rights movement, we would not be here.
9. Are there any celebrities who would/could support our cause? Hollywood, u never know we may have support from the most unlikely places.
This apart, a question to the Gurus, is the DOS visa bulletin based on DOL labors filed for that month? Thanks for the clarification, Logiclife. I enter U.S in the first week of Feb, 2001. The economy was bad and I didn't manage to get a job. In fact, I didn't managed to get a job for a year. My then employer didn't revoked my H1B and the I-94 was valid until Oct, 2002. I didn't know that I was out of status till now. I don't remember seeing any section in I-485 form, asking for information about out of status. I did attach my previous H1-B approval notice(2000 -2002) while filing I-485. One thing I want to know is, did anyone got a query(RFE), asking to provide all W2 forms since their entry into this country? I am interested to know that.
Now I am really afraid. G-325 form has section to provide last 5 jobs. Since I had a gap, I didn't provide the details for the year 2001. I am royally screwed now! :(
