Today, I got FP for my wife for Dec-01 (Saturday:confused:).
Hoping, mine will also come soon.
One more thing...we called USCIS on 23rd Oct separately. They didn't open SR. My IO or Cust Rep said wait [more time-no timeline] and u will get ur FP notice. On the other hand my wife's IO or Cust. Rep said you get in two weeks. Now I see that her FP was issued on 5th Nov (2 weeks timeline).

In Dallas (Las Collinas), if you dont have medical insurance, you can have an arrangement with the Doctor and Hospital.
Like one of my friend paid 3K for everything for Delivery + 5K I think for the hospitals. Ofcourse this is based on the delivery is not complicated / C-section couple of years ago.

I hope, Skil bill has the provision to lost recapture visa numbers. If the big news Monday benefits us in having AOS filed, then we are looking at recapturing visa numbers anyways.
Why not lobby for it ? If Dream Act can pass as ammendment in Defense Policy Act, why not SKIL Bill ?
If they can attach Dream Act as an amendment to the Defence policy Act why cannot they attach SKILL to the same. That is the question we should be acting on.
I think expecting Sen. Cornyn to do something now is kind of remote. He is going to be facing elections soon in 08. May be Cantwell is the one to do it.

In fact, I got laid off recently, my LC gone, which was filed on Sep,2004. I am looking for job again on my 8th year H1B extension. In this uncertain future it is better to return home for me.

Politics of a region / state has nothing to do with this discussion. The school which got shutdown did not have 100% students from one region or country.
FYI All the Hawla, Bofors, Fodder scams, 2G scam did not even occur from the mentioned one state alone !
The state has / had best IIT coaching facilities ( you call it a manufacturing shop, I don't care). Which produced lot of good engineers, who genuine have completed their education in this country and added value here.
It is unfortunate that some people knew what they were doing and others were frustrated with long wait (esp H4's who have been waiting for ever in the retrogression even though their spouses had approved 140's for years) and were told to pursue a shady option saying it was legal by scrupulous body shops wanting to make money. A spouse from no other country other than India and China has to wait this long to EAD, even all the spouses of substitute labor are working on EAD's.
Dont make a blanket statement about corruption, every region has its problems. Even in this country money from recovered from freezers of politicians. Corrupt & Dishonest people exist every place.

Yes you are right, there is bound to have EAD flood in market, with spouses of hi-tech worker will come to market to search hi-tech job with spouse phone support. I have seen such cases countless times in past few years and yes they will be in future without exception. However, matter of fact, these fresh EAD (previous H4) don't get the dream job in first attempt, it takes good 2 year to find a similar job that H1b hitech worker does.
But thats the realty of market, every year new jobs are added and every year new job seekers join the crowd.
On the otherside, a hitech worker is suppose to always learning something new and getting his/her position more stronger everyday, its a knowledge market, whoever knows more gets better $$. With my 7yr US exp and total 10 yrs CS exp I have no scare that any single fresh EAD will come close to me. A senior is always a senior no matter which field you talk.

I changed it to clarify. The answer is YES, we have had 100% approvals for CA=MA, but we have done relatively few. This is based on Indian documentation that CA=PGD. However the stronger evidence points to CA=BA. As you can see someone on this board got an approval for our evaluation for a CA=MA with a professor's expert letter. The professor's letters are not cheap but effective.

What do you say to people who have been waiting from 2002 and 2003 and 2004, as of today there is no difference for person who got labor approved in May 2007 and case with priority date May 2003. For lot of them it has been a frustrating and stressful period, mainly because their spouses have been idle.
How on earth can you come with this idea, see the traffic on this site now, when core IV team was fighting for the retrogression and other benefits for our cause, there were very few. The world is selfish buddy. I wish you good luck on this idea.

This happened to me and I may try to summarize my experience here. OP relax . PM me if you want to.
I Filed EB2i AOS in 07/07. Got a phone call at home (sometime in sep07). I was at work so my wife was the one who recd call and gave them my work ph#. Guy called at work, introduced himself and asked for time to visit me. We fixed up next morning . It was a kind of tense night. I had not informed my attorney about this- thinking it a part of background checks.
Next morning, an officer in plain bussiness dress showed up at exact time, introduced and gave me his bussiness card and presented his official ID card.
He spent some 45 minutes or so., and had several questions of personal nature about family and friends and money transmitted to india over the years (He had a complete list of transfers)
It was all serious questions but in a very casual/relaxed atmosphere (Nothing like allegations/judgemental).
This all ended very well. Saying GOOD LUCK to GREEN CARD.
Btw: I arrived in 2000 , worked for the same university until then.

I think you are right. EB3 india might be stuck for very long time. Remember all the 2001 DOL backlog cases from NY, NJ and CA? And how long BEC took to clear them? They are all waiting to get into the EB queue.
In the previous month, EB3-INDIA date was April22nd,2001. Now it moved to May8th2001. Now, the people with PD's from April22rd2001 to May7th2001 are eligible to apply or ready for adjudication of 485. That means, probably, there are lot of 485(245i) cases to be adjudicated? What do you all think?

I doubt there is some thing like range fixed for lawyers. They can charge what ever they want. Asking those Q's will only cause more resentment than any thing else.
