That was a very illogical reply to the per-country limit question. How come a large number of people from certain countries automatically eliminate people from smaller countries from getting green cards? That's an extremely dumb way of looking at it.

FP status check phone is 304-625-5590. Name check is a different story. Write a letter to your congressman/senator or even Mr. President to inquiry about the name check status.

My experience with Picture People was ok - fair, I guess those are fine pictures as per USCIS specifications, but nothing out of the ordinary. 14.99 for a set of 4 pictures. Set me back about $80 for 3 sets of 8 pictures.
But my own pictures came out better and are as per specifications. The question is whether to take a chance in case i missed anything or to go with Ok-Fair pictures from Picture People. decisions.. decisions... damn.. retrogression
and of course most portrait studios would guarantee acceptance else will give you a refund or take pictures again for free in case of an RFE.

Hydboy, you make a good point. Does anyone know if this is how USCIS would do a Qtrly Spillover if they do it ? And do they have to make the EB2-I and EB2-C dates the same before they do a spill over like they do it for the yearly?

One suggestion, does senator Kennedy know about employment based immigration issues. Have we (IV) contacted him or his office to make sure he is aware of our issue? He has been and will remain a key figure and influencer in this. Just a suggestion that we keep his office abreast of the issues.

Specter agreed this morning with Kennedy's approach, provided that these illegal immigrants would not be able to start legalization proceedings until the backlog of 3 million people now waiting in countries around the world for their chance to come to the United States legally get their green cards.
Any comments or thoughts on this is highly appreciated.

I just opened a session in IV asking for experience and knowhow which seems to have turned into a heated congress session.
Plassey, regarding your thoughts and comments let me tell you something "GC is not the best thing in the world, for which one has to be so depressed and cry in bathroom". If you have talent and belief you can survive in any condition. I am not a preacher nor a saint, but nobody can stand such insolent reply from you. Good luck to you for the rest of day.

Media is a double edge sword. Lets not jump or resort into these activities and hurt IV agenda. Media can spin things around and you will be aghast at what is reported and what the truth is. We are not completely done with flower campaign. In my opinion it has now gained momentum and we have to make sure media presents our cause in a right way. And that we get a positive coverage.

Folks, can dependent's participate in writing letters to President? I have already mailed my hand written letter to White House and copy to IV team, in addition to that I got confirmation from other Indians with whom I work also mailed their letters..If dependents are also allowed then count for another 10 letters from my side...;)

Hey Bozo - I've been following IV for about 2 years now using my spouse's ID - I just created one for myself today - My wife and I have contributed to IV also. Know the facts before shooting your mouth off - NUT JOB!!!
Why not to use that very same ID you have been using for 2 years to post this one also? That way others will know you have been a member and also contributed in the past. No confusion and peace.

If you can get employer verification letter stating that the position is still available for you and your salary, then file I485 yourself.

I guess most of the folks here are busy preparing to apply for 485. I have different problem here.
My employer's attorney is charging me outrageous fees of around $5000 to
apply for 485, AP and EAD for me and my spouse. This excludes USCIS fees. I work on hourly basis, so I should be taking care of immigration fees. My employer is not allowing me to file through another law firm.
Do I have any other options. How much do they charge usually.

Ignore the IOs, just talk to your Senator or Congressman. They will be able to help you out. I was stuck in name check for more than 3 years. My congressman did not help but the senators office had a namecheck cell and they help out with genuine cases. The person there helped me clear my name check in 2-3 months (talk, dont email, send certified letter with details after talking to them). Had i known this earlier I would have had contacted them earlier and would have gotten my GC in June 07. My lawyer sdid not allow us to contact the IOs for information and i suffered big time because of that. Based on my experience all i can say is be proactive.

I think you should be able to manage it. I am not sure if USCIS will accept report from Doctor's in Mumabi. it has to be one the cerified civil surgeon.
You can ask your wife to have all immunization record ready. Talk to some civil surgeons in advance and explain your situation and ask if they can provide blood report in one day. Mostly they send blood work to another blood lab so you may have to contact lab if they can give the test result in same day. Although ppd test is required but you can try to convince civil surgeon to skip it and go with just x-ray and later deal with rfe. Or you can ask civil surgeon if he accept PPD report from some other doctor's in India. Another option could be that she can take PPD injection in india and show it to the civil surgeon here. Explore all your posibilities here. You have enough time to explore your options.

Is IV still collecting the list of affected EAD ? I received an RFE, and have provided all the documents, and my 90 day period is coming up soon. Please help. I have contacted my congressman also.
