i am not senior...but we do have free attorney conference calls on thurdays

Even in India, I have seen.. there are people who speak for Example (Konkani), can't read or write Devnagari script But they speak well... so.. here you go.. "Sound units to Word units.." :)

I second this. It will take 1 more year for USCIS just to come out of 2001 for EB3 I unless 5882 passes!

It gives me hope that we can - TOGETHER - silence even LIAR Dobbs one day. It's important to keep firing those fiery E-mails (without getting abusive) till we can cure MMS ( Main Stream Media) from "Lou Dobbs Syndome" (LDS) - spreading canards and half-truths regarding H1B and other legal Immigrants implying their non-existent "illegality" to increase viewership/readership. Most likely it will need 2000 of us to march (again ) infront of the "Communist Nativist Network" (CNN) HQ in Atlanta with our ONE sentence Media Education ( and LDS de-contamination) Package

I would say even Canadian system of education is different from US. However difference in Canada is 10% v/s difference with India is 80%.
Remember Canada is Commonwealth country and ex British Colony and their education system is amalagmation of British and US systems. So even in Canaz they will prounces Z as Zed and not as Zee as in US. They will also write cheque and not check.
Canada educational system standards are high. In Canada public school is free like US but it goes beyond US in that even school supplies are free. You pay nothing for pen, book, paper or anything used in the classroom.
Also in Canad there are public Catholic schools where school is run by Catholics but with government aid so you pay nothing. Something like private school with no fees. or your Indian convent schools which many of us may have been to.

I do agree an aggressive lawyer who knows the system would've put me in a much better situation.
After you wait for 7-8 years in your category for your visa your thougths will change. I have MS from an american university + work experience. Our lawyer decided to file EB3 in 2001, they convinced the company that EB3 is easier to get approved. i am still waiting for my GC, in the mean time i have gained a lot of experience, i am still an EB3 for USCIS. There are many in a similar position.
People talk about unethical practices etc. i feel that they ones who jumped the queue and used agressive lawyer already have their green cards. Most of my friends are already thinking about citizenship (and ROI after USC..that is a different forum :)).
Its people working in multinational companies who follow the law by the book are the ones who get screwed, its just my observation and opinion ..good or bad, i dont know...

Seems like we missed a golden opportunity in this bill. Is this the must pass budget bill? or related to troops in Iraq? I am suprised to see that this went completely under radar. I will write to my senators to thank them for the support (though it failed its nice to see their support).

We can also look at the possibility of mass drive towards bone marrow doner registration, Blood donation drive, Eye donation, etc.
Also possible is continue with Youtube videos. I think the reason for low response a) laziness b) doing alone may not be exciting and motivating enough.
Suggestion. We do the youtube videos in groups of three/four. It would be fun activity and will help to build bond amongst IV members.

The fact that India and china priority dates are same for EB-2 suggests some spill over has already occured from ROW. We just do not know how much more spill over is possible.

for any points based system to be beneficial to the EB community, the per-country caps have to be eliminated. Imagine the rush of applications from retrogressed countries if a points based system were to be put in place - its bad enough now with all the labor certification and other hoops to jump through. Neither the anti-immigrant lobbies nor the corporate lobbies would ever support such a system - The anti-immigrants because they dont want potentially unlimited immigration, the corporates because they just "love" guest worker programs.

buddy...iv core are not magicians, they have lives too. so please stop asking for more. when you say "iv has the luxury" hopefully you mean all 25,000 who make up iv. the core is not iv. they are just volunteers already breaking their backs...
there are good reasons for the temporary stops to the checks. everything need not be publicly anounced. please leave it at that.
and while we are at it...we need help with the leg work...please complete your profile so we can get you involved with some of it...it would be great to have you as a volunteer!
With all due respect, the probelem I have with volunteers is that I don't think amtures can pull a job this big, you've got to have profesionals, somethng like a compain maneger.
I admire the courage of your guys, and think the goal is fantastic. But the way it goes, I don't see how it can be achieved.
I've learned a great deal about immigration from the forum here. I very much appreciate it. I try to give back by answering questions others may have. I think IV has been doing a great job serving as that capacity.
But you guys want do something bigger. Well, you have faith in it, I don't, at least not now, neither many others. Maybe that is why you are still asking for money and volunteers.
