Our applications (myself and my wife) reached USCIS NSC on July 2nd. On 09/08/2007, we both received EAD's and today (09/10/2007), we received Notice from CSC that our cases are being transferred to NSC as our cases fall under NSC's jurisdiction. My I-140 was approved by NSC in Feb 2007.
Also, our cases were received on July 2nd @ NSC and the RD on Transfer Notice I received today have RD of 08/28/2007.
Anybody in same situation...I am confused here....don't know how cases are being transfered from Center to Center and why RD is not July 2nd.
Comments ???

Its not only for illegals but its also for kids of legals that aged out due to retrogression or backlogs in visas...plz don't be selfish with view points like "it doesnt help us so im gonna oppose it"....instead help the children who aged out due to the visa backlogs!!! Who is to blame? In my opinion, US. Not U.S but us (we the people). On one hand you observe legal hispanic immigrants and business fighting for the cause of their community and on the other we conveniently forget our community as soon as we adopt this alien land. I live in the Bay Area and boy have I seen the marathi mandals, kannada sanghas, TANA, AATA, BATA and God knows how may orgranizations that represent our fractured presence in this country. We have shamelessly displayed our differences based on cultural backgrounds/needs. Sardar Patel's dream of "Ek akhand bharat" (one united India) seems to reverberate only when India plays Pakistan in a game of cricket. I wonder if people such as Vinod Khosla, Vinod Dham, Arun Netravali, Indra Nooyi understand or are are atleast cognizant of the issues their community is facing. For a wild second, imagine the above four making a few phone calls. I bet the impact will be huge.

My wife travelled to India via Munich (Lufthansa) in Feb end and she had no issues with transit visa. She was never asked about it. The I-94 had expired and we have a valid AP and approved H1 (unstamped). She has not returned yet, so any requirement on return journey is untested.
I was nervous before she left and was wondering if I need a transit visa for her. Thanks everyone who posted their experiences.

Yes my in-laws are fine and they were not disappointed seeing me in person. But I am gigling by looking at this thread is growing and at page 3 someone put a shame on this thread. As for me sometime its fun and Ok to share minor detail or personal detail to give confidence to someone doing same thing which we went thru(like I have beein using photos taken at Kinkos and Sears). Nevertheless since date is coming closer to file our 485 it makes me happy to see several smiley face and helping hands in IV forums. Glad to be helping others and ignore rants of others.

Being an eternal optimist, I am still hanging in there with a hope that things will change after the next Presidential elections.
Hopefully all the buzz surrounding alterantive energy will result in some sizeable investment by the government in technology if we have a democrat as a President. But if the status quo continues, they will be spending their money in building meuseums in kansas refuting the theroy of evolution and 'Intelligent Design' and other such right-wing manusha!
My point is, it aint over till the fat lady sings, and thank god Lou Dobbs can't sing (I hope) :p

Oh, they were about to trap me into joining them, I did an interview through them back in 2001 the client wanted to hire and when I told them I am not interested, they started forcing me, then they sent a employee to my apartment to bring me to their place, my roommate joined them and he also had a tough time, he later transferred his h1 to a middle client and after that both me and my roommate had to constantly workout strategies to get his w2s, paystubs etc.... they gave him a real tough time

I read through this proposed legislature and there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
your valid drivers license is clearly mentioned as one of the acceptable proof of legal status. you need to be arrested or there should be obvious reason to suspect ilegal presence for the law official to ask proof of legal status. Why is that of any concern? That is perfectly normal in a legal society. You dont have to walk around with your 797 or 94s all you have to carry is a valid drivers license. Even if you dont have a license you will be given a chance to proove your legal status or inother words the decision is not made on the spot.
Again for those unfortunate who are here ilegally this law might become an issue. But we might end up seeing inflation as a result of these crack downs. More industry particularly packing/agriculture might migrate oversees. Anyway we will wait and see.

I filed I485 and my I140 got cleared. My employer is not willing to give my Approved I140. I am not sure why he is holding my I140. I dont have have any idea to change job at this time.

I moved out of GE Hyderabad and came to US. I decided to pull all the money from PF. So I submitted the application and came to US and forgot. I got the full amount within 90 days to the bank account specified. I was really impressed the way India is improving

I beg to differ with your opinion about using the walmart bags are trash bags.

There are apartments where kitchens are so small where you are forced to buy small trash cans and stuff them under the sinck.The best way to fit these can's is with Shopping Bags, not with 5 or 10 gallon's garbbage bag.

I have had 1 friend go through this. In his case he decided to go through the "India Doctors Association" and they refered him to this OBGYN who helped him as community service. She didnt charge anything for her own fees but he had to pay the clinic for tests. For hospital he just put his hands up and didnt pay a penny - it ofcourse spoiled his credit but he didnt care as the amount was so unrealistically high for him (wife had c section so it costs like 40-50k).
I did a quick google and there is something called the "North Texas Indian Physicians Charitable Foundation " contact them and Im sure they will help you out by working with one of their members.

this is a valid point.
but advantages of CP vs AOS are completely besides the point as that decision is based on individual circumstances.
If you/IV want to lobby, lobby for EAD/AP for the guys whose 140 was approved and staying in US legally on a non-immigrant visa. This may be possible thro, USCIS regulation w/o law change.

Why did you choose your screen name as 'Hopefull'? Are you hopeful about yourself? Or are you hopeful about others? Or may for everyone? Either way your message and tone of your post doesn't sound hopeful for anybody. Could you please consider changing your screen name to "HOPELESS"? I don't think 15-20% drop in 5 years is speculative at least not in California. CNN Money actually predicts a 31% drop in prices in East Bay of SF Bay Area! This is probably the worst time to get into housing market, at least in CA.
But I agree with quality of life issue. Even the most luxurious apartment does not compare with a house. Having a backyard and a garage are the biggest and the best things that apartments do not have. Also, having your own house gives you a sense of belonging. Renting a house won't give you the same feeling. Also, I know more than one friend who used to rent a house but had to move out because the landlord decided to sell when the lease was over.
So apartment doesn't offer the same lifestyle and renting a home might make you move every few years involuntarily. Best thing to so for those in CA itching to live in a house would be to rent a house that the owner is very unlikely to attempt selling. Any ideas on how to determine what houses are actually just rental property and and not really targeted for sale?
How does someone know when is the right time to buy a home? Anytime is a good time to buy a home, as long as you can afford it. I thought the last few months were good time for buyers because of the inventory situation (more choices or otherwise you bid usually in CA) - I dont think anyone can predict the market situation in 5 years and no one makes money in 2 years in a good market condition as well. I bought it 2 months ago in East bay and I am planning to hold it for another five years atleast and both spouse and I work - it is certainly not an investment for us, rather a place that we live - it is a rare feeling one gets after living in exile (apartments) for many years - sigh of releif
