The Forums are not secure as they are watched by anti immigrant groups. Key communications like this can only be through state chapters as the membership to the state chapters are secure. You will need to do some research regarding the legitimacy of this university. I did a quick look up and it looks the University (of Melbourne) is legit. But the logo of University as in their website and that in the degree copy which you presented are different.
The other thing that concerns me is, most legit University do not use sample copy of degree as a marketing tool.
I know how to verify the legitimacy of an US University or Indian University but not for Australia.
Having said that, if you get a 3 year post graduate degree (not diploma) from a legit non-US university (in Comp Science or something related to your job) combined with your 3 year degree should qualify for EB 2.

My i 140 is denied on A2P issues.Ive filed MTR.Any one knows how long it takes to hear back from them on MTR.anf if MTR gets denied can i file new 140 using same old labour ?some one help please >>>
I got my I140 approved just today!!. It was pending since Oct 2006. And then they denied it in March 2008. After filing MTR it took a month to get it approved.

Much of Asia and Africa is bogged down due to unstable political condition, rampant corruption, weak institutions and regulated economies, not to say low literacy and paucity of skilled workers.
Correction: paucity of skilled workers owing to emigration to the "more competitive" economies. It is the emigrant source countries that need to be complaining, yet in case of the US we find that most of the complaining is coming from the destination country !!! Sometimes I do wonder if the US got too much of a good thing too easily.

I am not sure how effective these new laws are. I recently renewed my Texas DL after expiry...I renewed it online...expecting for them to ask me for visa documents...instead I got the new DL in mail a few days later.
Maybe the databases are connected somehow & they verified my immigration details....but I very much doubt it. Sometimes you wonder why its so easy to be an illegal immigrant in the US.
However I did notice (in a city nearby in the same state - not the one I live in) that when you go in person, they ask for visa details.

I have written to USCIS director and Chairperson of the immigration sub-committee in the House Zoe Logfren about the plight of EB3-I applicants, I have metioned it is mainly because thousands of 245I(Asylum) people were given Green cards from this category. There should be some kind of relief for us. More people write her or other congressmen/Senators it will get more attention. As far as I know 90% of the Lawmakers doesn't know about 245 I cases...

To the bro who suggested I rather stay here than go back..well I work as a consultant thro a vendor hence that is not an option (thanks to the new memo).
Given the market is so hot in India right now and here new policies are made to make our life tougher, only makes one's consideration to move back stronger.
I will call up SSN office today and check out how much more is remaining of the 40 Q for me...will try and do that.
On RONR, I will find out and post here when I have any confirmed updates - but one thing I know for sure is:
Tax year starts on april 1st in India. If one stays atleast six months starting that date, he is still considered NRI. Hence say if you deposit 40,000 USD in SBI on may 20th...and return after october 10th, you are okay. No tax in that year..but if you came back before the six month, then there is some tax that you have to pay.
NON - RESIDENT STATUS UNDER THE INCOME TAX / WEALTH TAX ACT:
Condition Status
1. He is not in India for 182 days or more during the relevant previous year. >> If yes, then he is a non-resident.
(so check the next condition.)

I am sure we'll all hear from IV core team when it's time to start our phone and fax campaign in support of this or any other beneficial EB provisions to be included in the supplemental bill, if it ever happens of course.
I believe this is where IV stands in terms of strategy:
For minor/intermediate relief: Supplemental bills.

It is good idea. I discussed this my lawyer and according to him, nowadays USCIS is very strict about it and trying to match the requirements of EB2 against the candidate's credentials. If it perfectly matches only they will approve. It will be an option for those guys with EB3 with PD past 2005 and with enough EB2 credentials, primarily a masters degree and if it from US, then great.
Please do not go into this option just by stating that I have 100 years experience with such and such company. I will say, if your are a masters degree holder (from US the best) and is employed with a major employer for more than 3-5 years, then only attempt this. Do not try it if you are employed with some Desi company. This is harm both the candidate and the employer.
My two cents worth!!!

I am in the same boat. In my online status it showed exactly same msg. Then after couple of days it started showing the following msg:
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: This case has been sent to our local office for processing.
On May 19, 2008, we transferred this case to our DES MOINES, IA location for additional processing. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done.
