I did refered earlier in this forum ,about www.givemeinsurance.com , a desi agent deals with Farmers Insurance in Texas only.
I got mine and my wife insurance with him for $15 a month covering 250K Term Life insurance ( We are on H1 )
Check for any Farmers agents in your area.

In my humble opinion, if people who have been illegal in US for over 5 years are granted legality, then the govt should
1) Close the backlog processing centers where our cases have been languishing for years
2) Grant us green cards if we can show minimal proof that we did infact file for permanancy legally at some point in time.
I mean COME ON guys..the government is giving legal status to more than 10 MILLION illegals in this country, yet when it comes to 300,000 tax paying, qualified, LEGAL, degree holding H1B workers, the same government is penny pinching and trapping us in a bureaucratic paper nightmare. What is 300,000 when compared to like 13 Million?? Its a drop in the bucket. Do not forget that our employers have paid big bucks for every H1B, and additionally paid for the creation of the backlog reduction center, where they are painstakingly poring over each and every case with a toothcomb.

Thanks for your informed comments. Like you, I am also surprised to find many people in this forum, who are interested in fire arms.
I don't own a fire arm and not planning to while the immigration status is not yet Citizenship. I don't want the authorities to give another reason to look into my case. I just go for fishing once in a while.
But our family owns two guns in India and have worked with guns from childhood.
Another point is I am very much impressed with how the Americans manage wild life and the nature in general. They enjoy it while preserving it. India does neither. We just destroy it, and write eloquent speeches on nature protection.

I am a hunter as well, and when I went through hunter education, I was amazed to learn how serious the west was about wildlife and nature conservation. Hunting is a very important part of nature conservation. Every country that legalizes hunting, does so in a controlled manner in order to prevent a biological surplus in a species' habitat.
I don't fish that often, except for the odd deep sea fishing trip when the weather is nice, but anything that can get one outdoors breathing fresh air wins my vote.

I felt there were too many fields to fill in. It might help if we can take out some fields. Like RFE etc.
in the current system it is not mandatory to fill out all the fields. if you want to leave out RFE, you can do so.
We felt that some people want to track RFEs and see how it affects the overall progress of the case. Even though we do not have such calculation, I think it would be worthwhile to have an analysis done on that. It would help people know when an RFE is generated how far their case is pushed back. RFE information will also help people in the same boat and they can make such people as buddies and monitor each others cases and contact each other to figure out what is going on or how the RFE was replied.

I have 3 yrs degree + 1 yr PG diploma. I have been working in industry for past 17 years, and don't think any degree or even doctorate would add much to my qualification for the job that I am doing.
I am currently filed in EB3 category, and new company I am changing job to are ready to refile my GC. But they won't file my GC in EB2 category, as I don't meet the 4 yr BS requirement.
My son will be in the highschool in 4 years, and I don't want to spend a lot of money on getting MS to myself. But for the GC I am looking for fastest and cheapest way to get MS program. I have no idea how it works, what qualifies me for a degree, what can I get credits for. Any inputs would be appreciated.

Current crisis in UK is just one example, and i'm not surprised to see "slow bleed" approach.
It's up to individual situation and decision what to do next
Gandhi was never an immigrant and was in SA for solving a legal case on a temporary contract. He was always wanting to go back to India but because of the conditions of Indians, he was urged to stay back and help them, he actually went back in between and again came back to SA for a more organized effort.
The situation now is different. The Durbin Grassely bill lobbyists are basically doing what has been happening in UK where local population do not want Asian immigrants taking high paying challenging jobs in their own soil. They don't seem to care if these jobs go away because the effect will be long term and as such it is a known fact that in these days, we seldom see the immigrant community having a good cooperation, every immigrant feels that one less immigrant, it is good for him.
This has been happening in every country where highly skilled migrants take job positions in countries like Aus, NZ, UK, Germany etc..
The US system is harder to crack for anti immigrants than these countries. So they follow this slow bleed approach. On the long run their objectives will be met though it would force out high skilled jobs abroad.
One good thing is that developing nations must capitulate on this and make their labor laws good and also copyright laws and patent laws so that innovation and products are developed in developing nations and so called developed nations will bleed technology and innovation.

Me too in the same boat. I have EFiled EAD renewal on May 21st and a LUD on July 31st due to my address change. No idea how long should I wait. Thouht of taking info pass but looks like one of the option is saying "if EAD pending more than 90 days" So I should wait another 5 days before I take an info pass. I am planning to take the recent USCIS memo where it talks about interim EAD and see what they say about it.

I haven't yet received EAD. How long it usualy take to get EAD after this status. Any Idea??

USCIS(*) will not publish any more visa bullettins and cutoff dates as there are so many people at IV predicting it.
