This is a good point. I was not trying to scare you but telling you my perspective of things as you presented them. Even in India someone with mulitple "official" id documents is looked with suspicion. The issue is sensitive in this country in these kinds of times. What if one of your last names gets listed in some FBI database for some reason? You would be stranded for no meaningful purpose in one of the back rooms by the departure gates...
Look at the bright side: with your current documents, you can choose a good combination of names and change/finalize your name with Indian embassy/consulate here in USA. Before that you could consult an attorney to streamline things you need to do .
After you do the name change or finalization, your lawyer would file a suitable amendment papers to your approved petitions. I believe with all good intentions that failing to do any or some of these will a recipe for future trouble.
Have a look at some of hte other forums: even with one set of names, there are people stuck at FBI namechecks; if you dont take the pains now to
decide on one name, everytime you do a paperwork with USCIS, you are adding to your problem portfolio.
Good luck, and remember that none of the members ( at least most of them) are legal professionals. IV anyway allows you to ask questions to lawyers every week (?) and maybe that could be a good startpoint.

People travelling to India, especially from the West coast should fly via the Pacific. Asian airlines such as Thai, Cathay and Asiana all offer better fares, better service and faster transit times.Plus these countries are not trying to fleece people by requiring that they get a "Direct Airside Transit Visa". It happened with my family when they reached the airport to board their flight on Virgin , they were not allowed.I then bought tickets on Thai for the next day. To compound the pain, Virgin imposed a "No Show" fee on each ticket despite going to the airport. I think it would be best to avoid most European carriers, if for no other reason but they offer higher fares, terrible service, long transit times and last but not the least; the scam of the century(Airport Transit Visas). What do they think the passengers will try to do, jump off the walkway and make a run for it so they can settle illegally in U.K!I think the U.K govt is running out of ways to make money so they have found the most ridiculous way to make a few extra pounds from people foolish enough to travel on one of their carriers! DONT FLY VIA U.K. PERIOD!

I totlaly agree with this. I am single too with PD DEC 2006. I have been in present job for almost 4 years. I ended up working for a non-profit oragnization on a non-cap H1b, which prevents me from transfering to private companies which need caped h1b( i din't knew about this when I took up the non-profit organization job). The only way for me to get into private company is to get a new H1b under cap which starts from Oct 2008. This time I planned properly and got an H1b approved. But to my shock and surprise EB2 dates moved to June 2006. I am now carefully watching the September EB2 dates. If it gets closer to Dec..I need to pull back the 485 as I don't think I can get marreid within 6 months due to family responsibality back home. If I withdraw my 485 application, I will lose the queue, money and since I plan to change job, the only benift I will be taking with me , is the PD date which I can later transfer if my next empyer does my GC. With a 2.5 year h1b left, I am hoping under worst situation, my next emplyer will sponcer my GC. This whole GC process is a pain in ***...!!!!

This is important information. Is it really true that a company laying off an H1 employee is under the obligation to buy all his household stuff, car, apartment lease etc.? If this is correct, we must share this information with others. In this economy lots of H1 guys are getting laid off. Many are selling their cars at distress values. Wait a minute…. You guys have a problem if someone else is getting GC even though you guys very well know how much difficult it is to wait for the long process to finish. I am completely stunned to read some of the posts on the forum as these posts are always looking for parity with this or that group. Some posts say “why undocumented are getting GC after paying 10K as we have been paying taxes for years”, some posts simple whine as to why L-1 get to file in EB-1 etc etc. Is there an end to this unnecessary complaining and this urge to always looking for parity, sometimes with the privileged and sometimes with the under privileged? Some posts are always looking for “fairness” whatever "fairness" means to the individual situation, and then, blame the rest of the world around for delay with their green card process. I think we ought to grow-up and stop complaining about someone else getting their green card. We ought to stop complaining about all the wrong things that may be going on our lives and we should get serious about making phone calls and meeting with the lawmakers. I do not intent to start a flame war and my intent is not to offend anybody either, just trying to point out that we could be happier and effective if we stop whining and complaining. It would also help to create a more positive and constructive environment on the forums.

We applied for H1B transfer on Jan/02/09 (California Service Center - Premimum) and attached pay stub and employement offer letter. First time we did not attach any contract details.
We got an RFE on Jan/09/09, Basically they wanted to know whether i am working on project currently. They are asking to submit contract agreements, client details (client letter - not sure it is must or not).
There are 2 layers between client and my employer and could not get client letter. However, I can provide the following docs,
1. Contract Agreement Between Employer and First Layer
2. Contract Agreement Between First and Primary Vendor
3. Letter from Primary Vendor (stating that i am working their client project).
4. Primary Vendor Invoices to Client
5. Time Sheet (Client approval)
6. Access Card
7. Work site Photo
8. Copy of Client WO (end date is 11/21/2008) - client with PO amount and end date is doest not matter... (i am not sure how is uscis will take it).
I could not able to client letter due to their policy. What do you guys think on this case approval. Any reply is highly appriciated..

My personal situation: I was on F1 visa for 6 years before I started LC process with a company for a totally unrelated to my field of studies position (EB3). We had PERM approved and filed I-140, with me still on F1. I-140 was approved and now we are stuck in retrogression. Meanwhile, and after I-140 was approved, I graduated and applied for H1B based on my major. I have disclosed on H1B application that I have I-140 approved from another company and attached a copy. Not a question asked. H1B was approved within 9 days (cap exempt). And there's more. Because I violated my F1 status years ago by accepting unauthorized employment (tracable through taxes), my lawer told me to leave the country and re-enter, to cut the tail clean and be eligable for adjustment of status when the quotas open up. I went to Canada, and applied for H1B visa stamp, disclosing on the applicqation that I have I-140 approved and have violated my visa terms previously ("yes" to question 38, in "kiss of death" section of the application). Very stressful time that was. But in the end - no problem, got the stamp and was back in two days.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. I hope this helps.

we need to bring the immigration discussion to the forefront, and seize on the opportunity this election year - democrats have everything to gain from it. Lets do all we can to get bill in the senate!
we can send these letters to the president, Sens. Reid, Schumer and Graham
I am really not into my own/ or any one particular case. We need to start reignite an awareness for legal immigration overhaul. Does not matter what one's priority date is.

Today I received RFE for my H1 Extension.
I received only one RFE which is obtaining contract documents from the chain .
Here is my situation.
I work for Client A for whom Company B does the project work. I was contracted through Company C who is the prime vendor for Company B.
Here is the chain.. My Company --> Company C --> Company B --> Client A.
RFE states that my company need to provide contract documents within the entire chain which is highly unlikely they can obtain.
Company B and Company C can only provide letters to affirm that that I work for Client A. Will this be enough or does it need to be only a Contract document?
Below are my questions

1.) My company says that they have PO from Company C which provides details about the entire chain. Will this be enough to answer the RFE?
2.) Does withdrawing H1 extension cause any problems ? I can invoke EAD
