I was wondering if someone will mention F-22.
First of all, F-22 is not for sale. Period. There is no such thing as a close ally as far as F-22 is concerned. Even the Israelis got a curt NO when they wanted to buy it.
Second, IAF does not want the F-22. It is US$ 150 Million a piece which makes it almost twice as expensive as any of the planes being considered. Also, if you look at the IAF's area of operation: F-22 is an overkill. None of the neighboring countries and this includes China has capabilities that will necessitate something like F-22 to deal with.

I agree that labor belongs to the company, but I paid all the fee for the same. They can always use that, but they are not supposed to screw up me In this case, they didn't talk to me and told me that my 485 was applied, which turned out to be a lie.

You are absolutely right that
getting a masters from the US does in no way prove that US needs us more than others (in light of EB law), or we are any smarter or more capable than people who did masters or even under grad from their home country..
My argument in favor of having a separate US Masters quota is that the universities will back it to increase their dwindling enrollment and to stop some programs from dying.

If its money that lures them into action, so be it. At this point, the situation is so desperate anything that moves the queue quicker is fine by me.
Definitely it is fine for "you" but not for many others. That's why many oppose it.
Why people are apprehensive ... the same reason why the very same people demanding for a special quota are apprehensive that Illegals will be placed before them pushing them further down the queue.
And if it plays by money may be have an auction for GC ... highest bidder gets it first ;)

I guess this bill passage is a trigger to all skilled workers to do the following.
Option-1: Become Illegal and get a Z visa.
Options-2: Go back to home land and live with dignity and peace of mind. (This is the option I would take). I am thankfully to the congress for helping me to make a decision, rather then wait for life time.
Options-3: Re-apply in merit based system and wait in line for 4 to 5 years, until some other similar bill comes and says you to restart again in some other system.

If you have current AP, you can travel while your AP renewal is pending. AP renewal will be from the date when your current AP expire.
In other discussions it is mentioned that if I-485 is pending & you are applying for renewal you don't need this letter.
BTW, i just read this in the I-131 instructions, so if i hold a valid AP now and apply for renewal and go to India and enter back using the existing AP, does it mean my pending I-131 renewal will be abondoned? :confused:

To mailmy_gc : You are very lucky to have it on the 100th day i guess..Mine is pending 98 days and i went to local office - Newark, NJ today and they told me your file is with the IO and you are probably struck in background check - cant understand he spend 90+ days on background check alone! and i am still counting. I met atleast 3 people whose EAD is pending and expired and are counting days. I cant beleive USCIS is no ruthless and care a damn about legal immigrants.
Can anyone tell me how else i can expediate? - I already tried 2 Info pass, one service request, Letter to CIS ombustman (they did respond with rrecommendation). I havent contacted senator (does it help - if so do i just call them or go to there office?). Any input will help.

good point in item 4. When i talk to people from other countries about visa issues and IV they just look at the processing dates for 485 and think that GC will be approved in 6 months.
Please remember that even if BEC clears the application with 2001 priority dates. These people still need to:
1) Apply for I140
2) Have I-140 Approved
3) Apply for I-485 only if their priority date is current
4) Complete various I-485 tasks like fingerprinting, BACKGROUND CHECKS (this is a huge one and unless you are lucky you can get stranded for anywhere between 6 months to 3 years)
5) Now after completing 1 - 4 above you can expect that they will apply a visa number to the application

IMHO "legally" exploiting the system is illegal. I don't blame the system because any system will have some flaws in them. I would rather blame people who take advantage of situations esp in scenarios like this. We all know how much time some people has waited here. We heard a story on Monday right? Have we already forgot that? IV's goals and objectives are clear on its home page. Here comes the OP, registers himself and comes up with his first post of Labor substitution and how to better himself. I don't see any thing wrong in pete getting fired up. This exact attitude is the result of 6500 members and not 25,000 or what ever.

If I was judging you I would have concluded that you support what the OP is doing and wouldn't asked you what your stand is. It depends on how you understand what I said. Those NASDAQ listed companies you were referring to might have substituted labors but I am sure they wouldn't charge X dollars for giving a better PD or deduct from payroll under some other miscellaneous stuff. I am aware of what you are talking and what OP is talking and they are not the same. I don't need to explicitly tell how desi shops work with
