I think we need an IV movement to fix the Indian Consulates - They are absolutely pathetic - Lets get our house in order before we try to fix the USCIS !!! Does anybody know what is the email address for Meera Shankar - Indian Ambassador to US. We need to bombard her with emails about how badly the Indian consulates in the US are run.

My experience with Picture People was ok - fair, I guess those are fine pictures as per USCIS specifications, but nothing out of the ordinary. 14.99 for a set of 4 pictures. Set me back about $80 for 3 sets of 8 pictures.
But my own pictures came out better and are as per specifications. The question is whether to take a chance in case i missed anything or to go with Ok-Fair pictures from Picture People. decisions.. decisions... damn.. retrogression
and of course most portrait studios would guarantee acceptance else will give you a refund or take pictures again for free in case of an RFE.

India definitely needs a F-22 like aircraft considering the Indian AGNI-3 is still not operational and there is no proper long-range nuclear weapon delivery medium. Sukhoi's and Mirage's are no F-22's.

India has PPF/PF and that money will go in you PPF/PF account, its not a black hole, infact it pays the highest interest and its secure. its very easy to get money out of your PF account. i took it out of my PPF account before i came to the US and promptly spent all :)its another topic that SS repatriation will never be approved, especially retroactively.
I do not know in which city of India you took out your PPF.,
But I heard you have to pay atleast 5% to get PPF back in Hyd.,

That may be but do you actually think this practice is fair and should be legal. To me and hundreds of thousands of other folks who are patiently waiting in line, it is fraud because you are cutting in line. The sad part is we see that you are cutting in line but we can't do s**t about it just because it's legal.
Why do we all start complaining when illegals get preferential treatment than us? We all start saying that we came here legally, we pay taxes, we waited in line, we did everything by the book.. bla bla bla. Well .. they are also getting their gc legally so then why do we complain?

My attorney, who I deal with directly (he is part of big immigration law firm), had sent my some papers ages ago that the firm represents both myself and my employer.
Could be that there are bar association rules for this, or maybe just this firm's policy. If it is wider than this firm, then you might be able to refer the attorney to the bar association. It would I guess depend on how much he knew, and whether he knew that you were under the impression that he would be applying for I485.
You probably have a civil or criminal fraud case against employer, and if the attorney knew that you believed that employer was applying for I485 and in anyway facilitated this, even by willfully not returning a call until it was too late, he might be guilty/liable due to conspiracy. Conspiracy without a paper trail or witness is hard to prove. However it depends who has to pursue it. In any case would the attorney want a formal complaint against him on the record with the bar association.
Find out if same employer & attorney did same to anyone else.

guys cool down it took them till end of May about 2 months to issue all receipt notices for H1 filed on Apr 2 this year. With the whole yes-no-yes situation this month they are definitely backlogged. Lets just wait till we actually get the receipts .

Sanbaj, Is there any update regarding your case ?
None so far. No updates from the Lawyer or any LUD change. My I485 RD is 08/16/07, and NSC has not reached that date as yet. My lawyer's office called and the response was "The request is attached to the file (485)". I called NSC and the IO there DO NOT know the meaning of Interfiling and the IO I got was very rude and in a hurry to finish the call. She said that these officers should not give us (AOS Adjustees) any info, please inform me if any USCIS officer has broken that rulw. I said no one has and finished the call. Now, I am waiting, as have been for last six years for various things on the GC journey, for NSC I485 Processing status to go beyond Aur/16/2007. Once it does, I will call them again.

I am planning to file AC-21 memo with USCIS.
I hope the my new employer will help with paperwork. and I have to find a lawyer who can do that and be prepare for RFE and Interviews.
My last question to you:
1. Do you know for AC-21 I have to work in the same state where my labor was filed?
my labor was at IL and now working in TX but same type of job.
2. Is there a deadline or recommened time to file Ac-21 memo with CIS?
I just joined the new company 2 weeks back with my EAD after getting laid off from petitioning employer (they will not revoke my approved I-140)

to channel all your frustrations and anxiety toward a noble cause. Life is hard. GC is just a milestone, just the way you experienced your first process (H1,J1,F1) to get to the US.
I think worrying a lot about the GC has increased my blood pressure (and I need to relax). :) It is just like the COLTS disease - men are made to worry about the future. ;) IV allows to share your pain with others and also work together for a cause.
Remember life can be worse than what it is for you now (http://anilgeneral.blogspot.com/2008/07/when-going-gets-tough.html) Chill, it is a friday.

The discussion seems to be focused on getting a certification to add to your resume. I am a PMP too, have delivered several small projects.
I think whether you are a PM or a developer, PMP is a good step to understanding and appreciating the business value of what you are doing as a techie.
It is not just a certification but a way of thinking.
It applies to everything in your life not just your work......
Treating it like a commodity isn't the best way to look at it.
My 2 cents .....
