1) what is the best way to attach photos when sending supporting docs so that they won't get lost or mis-placed. What goodies are avaialble in Staples for this?
2) As part of AP e-file process, is it possible to do all the work on a machine which does not have printer and later retrieve the confirmation notice and print it?

I'm sorry for posting my question here. I know its not a right thread for my posting but I don't find any link for new thread.
I'm a July 2007, I-485 filer with PD dec 2004 EB3. I have been working as sr.project engineer for the past 4 years with an MI based company. At present my company is not doing good business started downsizing. i don't know when I'll be victimized. So, I have started searching for new jobs vigorously and got an offer for Designer position ( Permanent position with all benefits) with slight increase of pay. I don't have to use my EAD as employer is willing to transfer my H1B which is valid till 2010. Friends my question is -
There is a degrade in position, Does it effect my Gc process? I know, no one will be in this type of situation. my heart bleeds to accept the lower level position but, the fear of going out of job with wife and two kids is forcing me to accept the offer... If it doesn't effect my GC process..

We got a partial correction on their on line article at the bottom which was just added after our e mails started hitting their inboxes. It is good that they realised their error. A pity it did not make it into their print edition.

I can understand cases where dates are current. But how they decide on cases which might have "visas available in coming months"? Do they know beforehand the movement of dates for coming months? or does that mean they continue pre-adjudicating cases in an order (probably by Priority Date)?
Well - from what I understand is that - these are the low hanging fruits - just like how you optimize time and resources, they pick candidates that are approvable and and utilize the time to process.
It is actually meaningless unless they make it public - say - send a letter saying that your case is preadjudicated and all we are doing here is waiting for the number.
If it is something internal - then well as long as your file is lying on the shelf waiting for visa availability internal policies may change anytime.
The entire preadjudication thing was started at the peak of economic turmoil - some say it was planned to weed out as many bad apples as possible from the GC queue by issuing denials, noids and rfes - if this is the case - then this will continue to happen as long as economy does not improve and job market is still bad.

IV has it's own lobbyists and has been using their services to get Green Card increases attached to various bills. Good lobbyists cost a lot of money like good attorneys. Though IV has hired the services of one of the top 10 lobbying firms, IV is limited by funds in utilizing their services. Most of IVs funding comes from few recurring contributors and other members who contribute one-time every now and then. Most of the money gets spent on these lobbying efforts.
There is a general tendency here to blame IV for not trying to attach increase in Green Cards to every immigration-related bill in the Congress, or not doing more lobbying. Members who blame IV need to understand the constraint of operating under limited funds and the necessity of making wise investments in only those efforts that are likely to yeild the most benefits like the Admin fixes campaign which has a better of chance of passing in an election year than the immigration-related bills.
If IV had more regular contributing members and more funds, IV would've tried to attach it's measures to more bills and we would've had a better chance of success. But sadly that's not the case. We need to appreciate that IV is doing the best it can under the circumstances.

At this point, I am hoping USCIS will at least allow me to change jobs (remember - I am on 7th year H1b - approved I-140, did not apply for I-485 due to retro). some members here said this is possible and some other members said I cannot do this. so I am confused if I can do this or not. If at all USCIS lets me do this, it would be great if I can find a new employer who can do EB-2. I am praying to God to help me while I try this route. I am not asking too much here... am I ?

BUT I GOT HOLD OF PS 3811 FORM WHICH IS TYPICALLY GREEN FORM RECEIVING GUY SIGNS HAS STAMP OF 062907. EVEN THOUGH IT REACHED ON JULY 02
EXPLAINATION I GOT FROM USPS CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT JULY 02 BEING THE FIRST DAY AFTER LONG WEEKEND THE GUY MIGHT HAVE FORGOTTEN TO CHANGE THE DATE.
I AM WORRIED HE MIGHT HAVE NOT STAMPED THE SAME DATE ON MY APPLICATION. IN THAT CASE IT WILL BE RETURNED.

What can Obama do when most of the Republicans are dead against the immigration reform. They didn't allow their own party president to pass the CIR. Do you think they will allow Obama to do it?
He won't be able to pass any new laws anymore, they can't even agree on a budget. Forget any other controversial topic. BUT , when he ran for the office, he had promised to fix "the broken immigration system" within the first year of his office. He hasn't kept many of his major promises and is highly doubtful to get re-elected if the Republicans have a strong candidate(disclaimer: Trump isn't a strong candidate)
We're bound to be in this rut for a very long time if we want to stay here!

I am EB2-I with PD of Aug 02, still waiting for approval of 485. July07 concurrent filer. 140 was approved in Sept08.
And this is the interesting part. The online status still shows 140 as pending. No email either, just a soft LUD on the online status. USCIS is being truly erratic. A maverick?
You should fill out a form with the Ombudsman. Just google for it. They should help you with your case.
Is your NC cleared? Have you taken an infopass to confirm your biometrics and NC is all clear? There have been cases where fingerprinting was done but it wasn't reflected in the case status.

my friends..... all suggestions/opinions I got were encouraging and guiding..... never the less I got many REDs and bad comments... but its OK.... when you post on Open Forums..... people are entitled for their opinions...... So thank you......please vote if you still haven't..... I thought about my questions even more over the weekend..... I think I will put 5% down + PMI...... and take a risk after winter when home prices are traditionally depressed.... see what happens......

I didnt see any post wishing happy Eid/ Eid Mubarak nor did I notice last year that anyone wished a Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays, nor do we wish our Chinese friends a Happy Chinese New Year.
