I am from Ohio and tried several times to join State Chapter. I did get PM from a member last week who asked me to get him my personal info, which I did but no rsponse from him..
Can you suggest a link how can I join SC?

I spoke with Uday, he has enrolled you as a State Chapter Member. There is a google/yahoo grp that each chapter leader maintains. You can directly contact Uday if you have any suggestions or he will contact you when there is any action item and the members of Ohio are participating. I think this has a better chance than rest of other EB bills, because US wants more skilled persons and by defintion advanced degree holders from US in STEM are. Congress extended 20,000 H1 visa for US masters and PhD graduates some years ago whereas they were and are loathe to extend the total H1 numbers.
Going by this logic, I think this bill will go farther and gain traction. Lets's keep our fingers crossed.:)
In one stroke, this bill helps both a) US advanced degree graduates and b)non US graduates (i.e, EB applicants), as 1) it puts EB1 and EB2 in non quota category (I,C,P,M and ROW) and 2) frees up EB1 and EB2 numbers for EB3.

My I-140 was denied incorrectly , as a result my I-485 was denied.
The USCIS is claiming that the I-140 Petition was filed without a certified PERM application. This is absolutely incorrect. The original certified PERM application was filed with the I-140 Petition. I have a photocopy of the original PERM application.
My lawyer filed MTR for both I140 and I485 6weeks ago.I received receipt notices for both I290B.
I was working on my H1B till last week, but was laid off last week and I am searching for job.No one is offering job on H1B.I send a letter to coressman explaining my situation.
Can I use my EAD?-----My Lawyer says my EAD is invalid.

all it matters is what individual members will vote if we have time we should go and meet our lawmakers who ever runs for president in 2012 will have this in his/her campaign.. but who ever becomes the president its the congress which does the voting and decides the fate of the bills.. only if we have more ppl meeting with each of lawmakers on regular basis we have some future either with CIR or w/o CIR via piecemeal

I agree that labor belongs to the company, but I paid all the fee for the same. They can always use that, but they are not supposed to screw up me In this case, they didn't talk to me and told me that my 485 was applied, which turned out to be a lie.
Well..they lied to you..that is good enough in this country to sue them.
If you want to whip their a** dont think what reason should you go with, take whatever comes to you.
Also post the company details so that fellow desis wont become prey..

OH Law firm did post the reliable and credible information from Chaerlie Openheim (VB in charge from state Dept) and his predictions for Oct 2007 VB are similar to the January 2007 VB.
Nothing new about this, lot of websites already published this information.

I tend to agree with your interpretation that "NOT SUBJECT TO PER COUNTRY LIMITATION IF ADDITIONAL VISAS AVAILABLE" refers to those beyond 140K. The language of law is always beautiful, isn't it?:)

No one analysed the statue of the language used in 202 5 a.
If the total number of visas available under paragraph (1), (2), (3), (4), or (5).
The key is OR. If the the intension of the language is total demand is less than 140,000, then it would have been "If the total number of visas available under paragraph (1), (2), (3), (4), and (5)"
The language used in the 202 5 a, explicitly defines each preference catagory seperatly. Also it says "the visas made available under that paragraph shall be issued".
For example the unused visas by EB1, let us assume 10,000.
The visas avaliable in EB2 is 40,000 as per 203 b 2.
Therfore the total visas in EB2 is 50,000.
If the total demand is less than 50,000 in EB2 (India+Cina+ROW), the 7% quota is not applicaple.
This is the very direct, simple interpretation of 202 5 A.
Therefore one cannot (EB3-ROW) interpret, for their convenience. Thats why I suggest the IV to discuss with experinced attorney and make a enquiry with law makers or DOS, if required. Otherwise (if it is wrong it is a big blow to India and China). We will get only 2800 per year.

Reality is DREAM act is directly connected to HISPANIC votes for Democrats, EB community doesnt have any VOTING rights, neither they get any support from the folks who are already GC/UScitizenship holders.
Once people are out of this GC mess, they all start talking about anti immigration and that's the reality, u go to any indian community around and see how much support you have from those folks who have GC/US citizenship.
That brings a new point for IV leadership. In line with HISPANIC movement, can we take/seek help from various associations of India/China like the ones in link Indian Associations in the US : NRI Desi Associations in USA : India Social, Cultural, Religious Organisations (http://www.thokalath.com/North-America/Indo-American-Community.php)

I'm not sure how voting on this site is going to improve the chances of this bill. It is simply an application site 2 companies have created. It does not do us any good by voting on such site. It is like voting on petitiononline site annonymously. Pls help me understand the benefits if I am incorrect in understanding this site.

WOW --Right from relationship between coutries tot he pros and cons of war planes we are discussing here.We have people with nice political knowledge per se Ministers and Kings who can analyze how just 11 billion (bully)dollar deal can affect the Green card processing and we have Generals and colonels who knows which fghter plane is good for which country.
But still we are able to manage only around 200 for the advocasy event and large amount of donataions which barely met the expenses. what a pity ;)
