It's really strange the surge in non-legal issues threads..

I know one of my friends got his GC in April this year EB3 India, PD Aug 2001.
So they did approve some cases, very few though.
Is this something to be concerned of, Absolutely. USCIS should release the monthly statistics of approvals in each category.
It is something to be concerned about, they don't seem to be have approved any EB3-I after July 07 (or may be they approved a very tiny number).
June 03 was the cutoff in June 07 and after that it hasn't crossed Nov 01 ever, till date. Very weird.

I have talked to IV leadership and they have agreed to hold a rally in March 1st Week, if sufficient numbers indicate willingness to participate.

So can we please stop blaming IV leaders and start showing them our support by indicating our support?
We need the IV core team and the administrator to guide some big rally's. Guys nothing will happen until we are bold about our intentions.
I noticed everyone comes up with their different ideas, but no one works to implement it. We need to stand together and do something big, when was the last time we had a big rally?
We all have our own problems, life in America is not simple, but in order for us to accomplish something we all need to unite and do something big, the problem is lately IV thinks too much and has less of ACTION

Please refrain from pushing OP to post employer details on public forum. Let it be OP�s weapon of surprise. I wish OP has contacted an attorney for fighting his case. If this is going to be an out of court settlement, then we shouldn�t expect complete details as well. OP's story should be an eye opener for all of us(Employees and Employers).

Guys - I asked my lawyer about the predicted time frame of my case which is EB3 ROW priority date of October 2005. I asked specifically if my case would be approved in a matter of months or years. They said that my case would most likely take years!
I don't really understand how the process works - how could it be years when my priority date is only 4 months away. Does anyone have any explanation why this would be the case.
This lawyer has been great for me and I trust what they say but I am not sure about the prediction - if anyone could shed any light on this I would be so grateful.

Lou Dobbs does not care about legal high skilled immigrants he no longer refers to H1bs as H1bs but rather as "cheap foreign labor". His wife is Mexican-American but he does not hesistate to attack Mexico and any vulnerable immigrant group, for that, he makes over $6m a year for his rhetoric, he has even gone as far as being linked to hate groups and supremacist organizations. Media matters is an organization that exposes Lou Dobbs' lies, next time Lou Dobbs or Fox (the channel) attacks legal high skilled immigrants and does so using falsehoods, it would not be out of order for IV members to contact Media Matters and set out the truth.

Dont Know from past 20 yrs after coming out of college, for some reason I dont like Infy.
( It is not that I didnt get a Job there ) I had been to there couple of facilities in various cities in India for pre-sales and post sales product support.
I got their offer couple of years back and decided not to join. I was disguised the way the HR manager spoke. He was telling me to work for lower wage than what I was making for the privilege of working for them.

I hope, Skil bill has the provision to lost recapture visa numbers. If the big news Monday benefits us in having AOS filed, then we are looking at recapturing visa numbers anyways.
Why not lobby for it ? If Dream Act can pass as ammendment in Defense Policy Act, why not SKIL Bill ?
If they can attach Dream Act as an amendment to the Defence policy Act why cannot they attach SKILL to the same. That is the question we should be acting on.

using a flash is ok, just be careful if you wear glasses (you might need some retakes before you get it right). and turn on red eye removal. 3.2 mp for the size (2x2) of picture is good enough.. Even 1 mp is good enough if you are zooming in to take pictures. but if you are cropping a 1 mp picture to take out surroundings, its better to use 2mp plus camera.
When using a flash you get harsher shadows, to counter that have light source both from left right and top and do the picture in daytime with atleast some natural light. Remember stand atleast 2 feet away from the white background.
Flash results specially in home environment without proper lighting won't be good at nighttime unless you use multiple synchronised flash guns.
I guess the other persons remark regarding flash may be related to lighting / over exposures/ shadows. (make sure you wipe your face if you have oily skin - no kidding )
In the end if you really want to make your pictures look good and per specifications go to a portrait studio.

I am going to share with you what I have done regarding refilling and why I have done that.
Call me a paranoid or something else but the fact of the matter is that time period between July 2nd and Aug 17th is a golden opportunity that may not present itself for several years now.
Though the chances of my application getting rejected due to mail room error is less but in the game of probability everyone of us stand equal chances of getting hit by a thunder bolt.
Just a side note - They install lightning rod on buildings to protect from lightening even though chances are 1 in 700,000. Well, my odds are much worse than that. Hence, I need to protect myself.
Regarding filling multiple 485 applications, Rajeev Khanna has categorically stated in one of his meetings that he is doing it. And we all know he is a person of good reputation.
There are two scenarios I can think about:
a) My July 2nd is accepted: In such cases either my later filled application is automatically rejected or they will send me a letter asking me to choose one.
Someone on one of his/her post had mentioned about stop payment idea. He may have a point. Call USCIS and you will find out that only thing they will do is reject your application, which is what you want if your earlier application is already in process.
Somebody also stated just like what they did in H-1B cases on 04/02/07, they may reject both applications, well; H-1B case was different due to lottery system.
b) My July 2nd application is rejected: Well, I just protected myself from a thunder bolt.
Having suffered in Green Card race for so long, my risk taking capacity has greatly been reduced. I am not advising or urging anyone to take any action. I am just sharing what I did.
